Daredevil. It's a struggle to get a time when me and Mrs Kwacky can sit down together and watch it.

Juventus v Man U.

How good are Juventus. Fantastic style of football to watch and a cracking goal from Ronaldo.

Shooting Of The Day.

It's looking like 13 fatalities at a bar/grill in Thousand Oaks, CA. including the suspect & one responding police officer.

To say it's a bit of a mess is an understatement. Suspect appears to have been a USMC veteran with some underlying issues. Reports are saying this man was equipped with smoke bombs & at least one fully-auto weapon.
The crime scene is massive.

Apparently the policeman was a 29-year veteran. He was due to retire.........today.
Now that is truly sad.

Watching the fires as LA & Ventura Counties burn to the ground.
Fairly massive cloud of smoke....I'm over 50 miles away & it's quite visible.

Morning news

Few days ago we had a lone wolf terrorist attack by a Somali immigrant that was on the ASIO watch list. Luckily due to gun laws in Aussie he only used a knife (and crashed and torched his car) there was a few injured and one death.

During the ordeal as the cops were trying to subdue him non-lethally (even though he lunged at them for a good 5 minutes with a knife) a homeless man used his shopping trolley to hold him back and assist the cops. He’s become something of a local legend now.

Over the weekend a fund raising campaign was started for him and today it just clicked over $100,000. I hope he gets his life on track and from seeing interviews with him I’m sure he’ll do his best to help others with those funds as well.
Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

Thank you.

I'm miles from any of that....I'm in Cypress, which is in the middle of everything that's "built-up" and pretty close to the coast.....millions would perish horribly before the fires got anywhere near here.

It is a bit smoky/ashy....but nowt major.

Good to hear you’re in a good spot then (y)

As you know we deal with some pretty horrid fires here too, so fully appreciate what your area is going through. Hope they get on top of them soon.

Das Boot - the film version. Not as good as the TV series as they miss a lot out to squeeze it into 2 hours. Still worth watching though.

I also started to watch They Shall Not Grow Old, but my wife found it too upsetting so I'll watch it when I'm alone.

Same here. Fwiw it was the suffering of the horses that got to Deany, rather than the men. :^

I had to keep reminding myself it was real footage of the actual conflicts & actual people.
-IMHO we are so conditioned to see actors & special effects, & being able to remind ourselves it's only make-believe, that it's actually quite a challenge to take in the reality.
