Did a workout yesterday but decided not to today, still worn out and didnt get much sleep so I will be back at it tomorrow.

Mainly doing cardio with rowing machine, stairmaster and some light weights, slam ball, farmers walk (50kg on that and my hands are the limiting factor)... Trying to shift the gut more than anything else. But i just ate a slice of cheesecake.

6 mile recovery run on Monday, now having a couple of rest days

Learned I can set alerts on my watch to remind me to eat, so I've fine that for race day.

Probably going for a chilled 7 miler tomorrow and then a sports massage on Friday after work.

6 miles is an endurance task to me :(

Last night was legs at the gym.

Really struggled to get going to start with and couldn't get past 120kg so dropped the weight down then racked up again - I got 150kg for 2.
Onto leg press I did 125kg for single leg 'jumping' presses then racked up to 365kg for 5 before doing drop sets all the way down to 75kg.

Weirdly... I can walk just fine

PT session today (leg day) and she joined in matching me move for move, awesome, this tickled my competitive side until I noticed something about this girl, she was wearing 2 T-shirts and a jacket and not getting warm while I was sweating in 1 T-shirt, great fun though and I tried level 20 on a stairmaster for 5 minuets... Brutal, might not try that again for a bit.

Thursdays run turned out to be a bit more of a pace training session.

Today I went out with the club for a 10 miller with the focus on a social run. It's been ages since I just ran without an agenda, and I really enjoyed it. Mission accomplished.

Now I have a hard week of tapering before the marathon next weekend.

Great work Stonesie!

Talking of tapering, my fat loss is having a notable effect on my waist as all my trousers are too big. Even my new 30" waist trousers are getting a little loose

Still doing remedial work with the physio.

A bit gutted I can't do what I want to, but if I could do that then i wouldn't be broken and need the physio in the first place!

I'm making progress though, that's the important thing.

Today I did another PT session concentrating on arm's/chest with plenty of pull-up's (assisted) and pull downs, barbell presses and tricep pull downs on the cables, then shoulder press to finish.... That air conditioning had packed in and tomorrow is forecast to be 5° warmer so today was a good day to do a workout.

Legs and abs last night. I took my wife and she did some of the exercises with me. She reckons her legs aren't too bad today, which means I didn't push her hard enough yesterday. I know for next time. (devil)

Half marathon this morning, after last weekends DNF I was gunning for a time. Seemed a shame to totally waste all that training.

Came in @ 1:43 so very very happy with that, also smashed my previous PB by 10 minutes..

Back to sparring last night after ruining my hand last year. My hand is still sore but I can use it.

I'm covered in bruises. It's amazing how rusty I am.

I did an all over session with my PT yesterday. It started off doing pyramids on the leg press and it went downhill from there.

My upper back/shoulder blade has been playing up so I'm booked in for a sports massage. I've not had one for a while.

Pyramids are the best for big muscle groups. A safe way to really get your muscles warm and then to work all the way into fatigue.

I'll be doing an upper body workout tonight with focus on developing my very much lacking chest - I want good definition for my holiday ;)

Club coached session tonight, twas a pairs session.

1/4 mile loop, runner A sets of and runs at 5k race pace, completes the loop and runner B takes over. This continues for 40 mins with no additional recovery.

According to Garmin, my running pace was about 6:30 min/mile average over the 1/4 mile interval. I'll take that.

D6.. you're nutz!

My upper body workout is bugging me a little. My chest was so full of blood that I was unable to flex it which meant I couldn't feel it working during the exercise, it was just difficult. By the end I couldn't even do push ups so figured that'd be that and I'd be sore today. There is no sign I even worked it last night! :(

Other than the weights I did 20 mins on the crosstrainer and 20mins of 15/45 on/off "sprints" on the treadmill.. my calves and abs are killing today haha

Back and shoulders with my PT

His next client was running late so he showed me a few bicep exercises where you alter your grip to engage different parts of the muscle.

Humm, its amazing how a bank holiday filled with drinking too much, eating too much, and doing very little can screw your training up.

13 miles (ish) trail tonight, and I was hanging out of my arse...

Time to get focussed for ultra training now..

Well I achieved a landmark leg press figure of 500kg for 2 last night (rock)

20 minutes to cycle to the gym.. 23 minutes to cycle home - I was ruined!!

What's worse, we don't have a stair banister. As I was walking up the stairs I was falling from side to side and genuinely thought I was going to fall off the side of the stairs.

All is well this morning though, they're a little tremble-y but nothing terrible
