My son's boxing gym does boxing based fitness training for the dads so I might look at that once I'm in better shape.
Boxing training is brillant. Why wait? Jump in, you won't be on your own, great way to get fit and would be great going the gym with your son.

My Garmin Forerunner 10 watch has finally given up the ghost after 10+ years.

It owes me nothing so i have ordered a Garmin 45 to replace it in an online sale.

That's a good innings for a watch, mid you Garmin stuff is some of the best.

I've just bought an edge explore for the bike, decent stats and excellent navigation. A little pricy but worth it.

I’ve been looking at the Garmin Fenix 6X, dunno if I would use it to its full potential atm

I had a cheaper Garmin watch which broke in months. They wouldn't sort me out a replacement despite a 1 or 2 year warranty because I couldn't provide them the serial number. The reason for which is that the SN had rubbed off in weeks. It's definitely put me off Garmin.

That's why i went for the 45.

All i need to know are time, distance and pace and be able to save the run data. The Garmin makes all of those easy.

I've got the 6X Pro, I do use a lot of the functionality though.

I regularly use the training sessions, navigation, and music player. Often all at the same time. I'm running 3 or more times a week. I've also used the pace-pro for a couple of race simulations which is bloody amazing, nearly killed me though.

They are all fabulous bits of kit. It’s amazing that a watch can carry so much info if you think about it.

Post surgery got me feeling dead.

I'm way ahead of where I ought to be so they gave me week 8-12 strengthening exercises last week (week 3) on top of my week 1 exercises for mobility.

-Banded squats with arms above my head I can get my arse to the sofa.
-Step downs. These are evil! so much short term pain doing this. My target is 10-3 and I've gotten to 6 reps for 3 sets.
-Step ups. I'm managing 2 steps for 8-3.
-Forward lunges are also evil. Bad leg forward isn't too bad but bad leg back sucks!

There's a bunch of other stuff including planks, side planks and some yoga type stuff which are all pretty good.

The progress is astounding but my god these exercises are tough!

Back at it this week after a few weeks off with not feeling great, don't fancy spreading any bugs around.

Anyway I had a go at creating my own routine..

Wow... I'm extremely unfit. My quads were screaming at me after a ride to the pump track this morning and I could taste blood!

Still, this has to be the best physio I can do.

I've been doing intermittent sprints on the turbo trainer. It's a good way to get my fitness back and get some leg strength back. I'll do that for a couple of weeks before I start doing the long runs.
