itchy do you use straps to deadlift ??? i used to but a guy down my gym suggested using liquid chalk instead. I tried it and found it to be the best move i made in my dead lifting. I can set my self up and not get distracted from putting the straps on, my grip has gone through the roof and i fail before it does managed 220kg deadlift.
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.

I have straps, and the last time I deadlifted I did use them when I went heavy.

Here's my problem - my hands and wrists are small, and my grip is not that strong as a result. My back is stronger than I can hold onto with my hands. So I either need to use straps and go heavy, or go naked(!) And not lift as much.

However, I have heard of liquid chalk before. After reading your reply, I think I might give it a whirl.

Nice lift, btw.

Should also say I didn't use them yesterday, and my hands were pretty tender afterwards!

I had a cardio day yesterday. 10 minutes on the cycle, then the same on the rowing machine, then the cross trainer then the treadmill following by some abs work.

Considering I've not done any cardio for a while it didn't feel too bad.

I did an 8 mile walk yesterday - Endomondo reckons that was over 1100 calories burned. 8)

Today will probably be a shorter walk or two (probably 2 to 3 miles each) and maybe a quick cycle ride in the evening....oh and decorating, which is surprisingly physical!

Legs yesterday.
Struggled with 90kg squats, yet managed to push out 380kg on the leg press. What's that all about?

Back and biceps today. No straps, no chalk bit I think my grip may have improved a little. I'll take that as a minor win.

Running in the summer time isn't much fun. Much prefer winter.

I'm trying hard to cut down on sugar intake too as it seems to be the current evil in much of our food.

Manflu has prevented me from doing anything.

I do like these late summer evenings. I take the dog out about 9.30 and it's a nice time to take a stroll around the River Rea.

Slowly getting back into the training now my back and thumb are a bit more sorted.

Once I get into the swing of the new contract I'm going to restart the sessions with the trainer, and hopefully start doing some road running again.

Get ready for this...

Are you sitting down?

Sit down...

That's better. Now, prepare yourself...

I went for a run!

I know, I'd sooner s*** a pineapple than go for a run, but with my fitness test looming and having to reach a higher level than usual in order to avoid doing a Heat Acclimatisation programme for my impending desert trip, I thought I'd best do some training.
