That could be a ligament issue. These can take a while to heal. Lots of stretching is needed to stop them from stiffening up.

Hopefully the quack will get you sorted.

Been doing a lot of mobilisation stretches with the trainer, they do seem to have helped.

The Jacobs Ladder is a bitch, when incorporated into a circuit it's insane... Took a good hour or so to stop sweating after a 30 min session (sweat)

After the success of Tuesday's ride (I went out just before 9pm so there weren't that many other people out and about) I went out last night and did an 11 mile ride at about 7pm. I have learned some things which may come in useful for any other visually impaired cyclists out there...so without further ado I give you Beermonster's Handy Cut Out and Keep Guide To Psyclepaths:

Walkers - c**ts
Joggers - c**ts
Other cyclists - smug c**ts
Kids - gobby c**ts
Dogs on leads - b*stards
Dogs off leads - s**tbags
Women with nice baps with small dogs off the lead lurking behind them - potentially f**king lethal
Discarded kids scooters in middle of cyclepath - f**king deathtraps
Geese - feathered s**tbags / gits with wings (cpyright K Harper)
Badly maintained canal towpaths - f**kpigs
Roller bladers - the Antichrist

It was fun! :D

Yes. They are!

Chest tonight. Have changed tack again and am going for strength now, 5 sets of 5 reps on everything.
Managed to train with a friend tonight which was good, allowed me to go heavier and squeeze out 2 sets of 100kg on bench press.

I thought my strength would have dropped off after doing all the higher rep stuff up until a few weeks ago. Turns out it's not too bad.

Into my second week of a 10 week run training program for the Sydney City 2 Surf (Target is the 14 km race in sub 60 mins).
Running 5 days per week with 2 days of intervals/speed work. Having to do a good session of run related yoga stretches every day just to prevent locking up, running in your 40's is a tad harder than in your 20's it seems! Did 13.2 kms in an hour last sunday, and at a comfortable pace (not race pace) so the sparodic running I've done thru' the year has me at a pretty good start point. I'm offshore again now, so I'm getting up at 4 am to use the treadmill each morning, tell ya, thats getting old...fast. Got a 70 min run to punch out tomorrow before my 6 am shift (yawn)

70 mins on a treadmill sucked!! Watched a couple of TV episodes on my Ipad to pass the time. Ran at a comfortable pace (70% HR) and covered 15.2 kms. That was last years race pace so pretty happy with that!

I put the treadmill on 1-2% incline and find that once I get home I do better pace on the road.. think its the mental side of treadmill running is the worse, knowing you can step off at anytime, where at home I usually go out and back, so once you hit half way you're fully committed!

Not trawled through this thread, especially after falling off the wagon when the race dreams disintegrated... but do any of you fitness freaks get on the fresh juice band wagon as well?

We were given a cold press juicer for xmas and have only just started to use it. We're looking for recipes and tips.

There are a few things we need to take into consideration - our house is gluten free (coeliac) and I am dairy and fructose intolerant. I try and stick to the low FODMAP diet where possible.

So anyone got any recipes or tips they can suggest?

Legs. Put another 10kg on the leg press but I suffered on deadlifts as a result. Oh well.

Chest and shoulders. No free weights tonight, I did it all on the machines and cables. It's amazing what a change of workout does, my chest is already stinging and feels really pumped.

Ladies, PM me for photos (devil)
