Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Cav rant away. This is the beauty of this thread, anything goes. And to be honest I've had my fair share of rants especially from my previous job! Does you good time to time.Cav wrote:I'm not an angry person but everything is pissing me right off today.
I'm going to assume it's a mixture of the following:
Sh!t sleep
Very low on money
Delay in knee surgery
Realisation I need my right knee operated on too
Wedding only 3 weeks away
2nd dress alterations required at cost to us
Fiancé was in tears about her dress because she wishes she got a different one (I'm not even getting involved.. she can do what she wants and hide the receipt from me!!)
Car has been broken for about 3 months and getting progressively worse (no money to fix so bury head in sand)
I'm permanently exhausted
Work is slow as sh!t currently and I'm in a perpetual cycle of writing a document, issuing it, receiving feedback, making changes, reissuing. The problem isn't the document, it's the fact the testing has been done and I'm trying to get a test plan issued which they want changing because of the testing they've done highlight new things.
Oh and I've got really bad tooth and gum ache today which painkillers don't touch.
And I'm dieting.
Basically I whinge a lot and I'm hangry.
This is just a rant so I don't explode.. sorry for that
Hope you're all having a better day
Everything will get sorted Cav. As time goes by. You have the right attitude so it will work itself out. You will find the money to either fix or maybe even pick up a new car. But get your wedding sorted and say the I Dos first. It will be the best day of your life being with the one you love. Then honeymoon soaking up the sun or whatever it is you both have chosen to do/ go to.
You are exhausted because you've been burning both ends. This will slow down regardless or what you may think now. You have sorted your uni out, working, planning the final stages of your wedding and seen your dogs pass. That's tough on anyone
Good luck with your knee OP. A delay in an op is just NHS way of saying they only want the best doc to look at it and to work on you so you can make a healthy recovery.
Enjoy your wedding in 3 weeks. It will be an amazing day

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Thank you mate.. your comment just made me well up as I realise I've been pushing aside and completely ignoring the passing of both dogs.. I haven't grieved yet.
Not even 5am and I'm sat at my desk with leaking eyes haha

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Cav you do need to take that time. Its important for your well being. It's not because you haven't got a heart but because you are busy and I'd guess you feel like you have to be strong to get over this mountain that is everything that is going on at the moment. Please don't put any extra stress or pressure on to yourself, everything will come in time when your body and head have checked things off your huge list before the wedding.
It's not a bad thing. Never think it is.
That's my opinion at least
In 3 weeks you will be the happiest man alive. Your dogs will be happy for you too

Wow.. Lorry straight through the concrete barrier.
Just Monday this happened just after the Severn Bridge, the lorry ended up parked on the marsh land next to the river.
Way too many lorry accidents at the moment, I'm wondering if this is because they're overworked due to companies not taking on staff

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Dumb arse managers and crap companies.
I found out today my contract isn't going to be extended at the end of the month, not as you would expect by one of the senior managers informing me, but by the dev manager (who appears thicker than pig shit) having a conversation in an open plan office about who is leaving... You could imagine my surprise when my name was mentioned.
Oh well, I've been contacting for 8 1/2 years now, so nothing surprised me really.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
That sucks, surely in the contracting world there must be a contract in place where they need to give you the official heads up...... You need time to find work etc,,,, what a bunch they are

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
There kind of is, the contract always has an end date. Must companies are usually professional enough to indicate whether there will be an extension or not, but not all.Frankie wrote:That sucks, surely in the contracting world there must be a contract in place where they need to give you the official heads up...... Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Got my tax for my bike come through. After checking the new price of it, it has gone up by 3 quid after 12 months. Is it really pumping out that much shit into our air for it to be worth close to £100

Yep. Most bikes produce more CO2 than your average family car these days.
