I have no idea where you get this from Monty but it is not the case. People are arseholes because they are arseholes, not due to age, race, sex, sexual orientation......if people are cnuts its because they choose to be a cnut.

Duke, I believe Monty is just referencing the experiences of the guys who spoke up with a similar situation to mine. I took it to be a joke as I'm sure those who had commented did too.

There's a lot wrong with a lot of people from all generations.

There's something **** up with every generation.
But not with all of the people in that generation.
And probably not with most of them, TBH.

Enough of that now peeps.

New vent.. farmers that leave mud on the road unsigned and causes a bloodbiker to crash off the road while on call.

I am thinking the same..... total nightmare!!! I cant access anything I need. Managed to get my email via webmail/outlook, was a horrible user interface that is.... but the rest forget it. I did go in to the system files to check pc dates etc and start up settings. Nothing looked wrong, so left alone.

My IT is in Spain !!! and I dont have access to all the software to reinstall if I mess anything up ha ha, so best Leave that alone lol..... No point worrying over stuff I cant control, bit like this countries government !!! lol

Mine does this after a network/WiFi malfunction. Take the battery out for 10 minutes and try again.

Yeah did that, and held the on/off button down to clear static..... Up shot is, not my problem now, company will talk to Spain if they do what they normally do "bury head in sand" then i will no doubt see a replacement turn up? until then basic operations.

Went for a little ride to unwind and chill.
Did not go to plan, I am sick and tired of other road users thing we dont matter on two wheel.

1) Car coming towards me, sees me and still pulls out into my path while they overtook a cycle, they could have waiting two seconds!!! they had to stop 20 yard up the road at a set of light... Dumbarse!!
2) Car does the same again, this time it was parked cars...... THIS TIME I was not turning the other cheek. The tosser behind the wheel, proceeded to tell me I am on camera, I am on film. GOOD I said, then everyone can see what a C**t you are.

I am so sick of these twats.... I needed to vent lol

Oh and my front tyre lost a bit of traction on a right handed bend, to be fair i might have been going a bit quick for the road and conditions, nearly ended up in a hedge... It was then I decided to head home.

Car dealers - nothing new there, however I took my car in to get the gearbox looked at as it wont come out of Park without pressing an emergency release button.

£200 to look at it and £1500 for a new gear lever :D I'll get it done next week when they get the part.

No wonder these companies are all in the poo if they need to charge that for parts.

As it is - i can claim the costs back as the car is still in warranty, but how fecking ridiculous.

The car industry doesn't deserve to survive in it's current form given prices of cars, servicing and parts - bad bad model imo.

My hope is that electric cars have far less that may go wrong. I may be wrong of course.....

Wouldn't they be largely the same.? Presumably bakes, bearings running gear, ancillaries etc,,, will all still exist, simply the drivetrain that will be different.?
Still £1500 for a gear lever does seem daft, you can buy a perfectly usable car for that money imho.

They will only have a pollen filter for the blowers, brakes to check over/change fluid and minimal oil in the drive unit which can probably do 100K miles between changes. The coolant for the battery will have a very long life too.
The majority of servicing is oil/filter changes with less frequent air/fuel filters and even less frequent spark plugs, serpentine and timing belts, None of that exists on an electric car and the brakes get used way less thanks to regenerative braking, it almost makes it a game to see how little you can use the brake pedal.

A service for an EV will pretty much be a visual inspection and a software update, with a screen wash top up.

It is ridiculous. They're the dealer, they're the middleman....they should be doing that stuff on your behalf, doing their after-sales service & backing up the product they're selling.

When I bought the smart I also looked at the Renault Zoe. I spoke to a specialist about running costs and he basically said this.

Plug it in, kick the tires, and top up the fluids. It was something like £150 odd for a major service.

Because of this I can see the price of parts increasing to make up for the lost income of labour.
