You couldn't make it up. Today he went out to cycle to a town about 10k away and ended up somewhere completely different and did one junction along the equivalent of the M5 (fubar)

He said he wondered why people were honking at him (headbang)

Oh and he left all the lights on downstairs overnight (facepalm)

Sigh......

University. He wasn't quite as useless, but indecisive then.

Hes changed a lot in 12 years (which is the last time I saw him)
Ahh right. That's a shame being a uni student and ending up in living in a pig shed. 2.5 days left cookie!!

(bug) Ants.

They've gotten into the pantry & ruined my chocolate cookie supply, the bastards.

And yes, I was midway through my first pre-breakfast cookie when I realized. (puke) :D

Use a mix of water & bleach in a spray bottle for cleaning the tile, countertops, etc. in the kitchen....that'll keep them away.
Or "409" cleaner, if they have it over there.

I've got an ants nest just outside the back door. They're fine unless you leave the door open then they tend to come into the house.

It's a safe bet they've been around since the dinosaurs....or even earlier I suppose, as life begins small, then grows in size.
Probably.

I suffered with an ant problem for years here. Tried all manner of commercial baits etc, no success.

Last summer heard about a DIY mix so gave it a try.

Equal parts (teaspoon is heaps) borax and sugar mixed into a paste with honey, maple syrup or similar. Put it near there path, they collect it and take it back to the nest. Did this twice in different areas and have been totally ants free since. You’ll get a pile turn up for the bait but just leave them be. Taking it back with them is the key

Not 6 months later they haven’t!!! And I have plenty more borax (devil)

I literally could leave one crumb on my bench and an hour later the kitchen would be totally invaded. Made me even more OCD about cleaning. Since baiting the second trail I haven’t seen a single ant in 6 months.

So update from yesterday :D

He managed to go out for most of the day which was fine, then got lost and arrived back late (again).

We all sat down for dinner eventually outside, 5 minutes into eating, he smashed a glass full of red wine (as he wasnt looking what he was doing), all over the terrace which is now stained and presently the mess wont come off :( I'll have another try today to remove it, but more work to do.

1 day left. (wasntme)

FFS what is up with this guy. If that incident was in isolation then think I would be able to sweep it under the carpet but with everything else he's made zero effort. He's annoying me and I don't have to deal with it. Defo not going to be an invite again type of fella!

Bad.. very bad. 40% is a pass but I need more than 70 to get what I want overall.

SOME GOOD NEWS - I emailed my university supervisor and said that I've been given the wrong grade online. I'll receive my correct grade on Tuesday

2 things over the past 1 week

Road work guys. What the hell do they think. Blind bend, no warning signs then a line of cones and a digger digging up the bloody road with one guy on the other side of the road works at the bottom of a blind crest. In a 50 zone. Scared the crap outta us when we almost crashed into the back of 1 car that were queuing. If this was Wales they would have warnings from approx 400 yards away if not 600 yards. Here in England, a few cones will do right next to a steel digger and a massive hole, no injuries will be caused I'm sure.

If something happened would you have to accept liability or could you sue the council for zero warning around a blind bend and the opposite side - a blind crest?

The second one isn't so much of a vent it's more about how some people are greedy and don't think about others. At work we have to do 3 extra shifts each year. With these extra shifts you get your time back. After 5 you get paid overtime. There's a few people who go straight to the book and I'm.not kidding they literally place their names into any slot which requests our shift.

Its 5 months in and people have already got well over 20 shifts. These guys earn top notch money regardless of their extra shifts. But they don't offer it out to people. Infact I never really thought about it until the last night shifts where I witnessed one of them just going straight up to the book and not even look at the dates they just places their names in without knowing what they were signing for and then looking at what the shifts were. I've even witnessed them sign their name for not even our side of the department.

Makes me laugh as last year they decided they won't touch any overtime shifts because the new management have pissed us all off. In my old place if we said that we really wouldn't of bothered doing any extra for them I know i did, in this place it seems they say one thing but mean another.

For me its not too bad as to be honest I really don't want to be spending my days at work I want to enjoy myself but for the people who come up to me talking to me about it, it does wind me up because others habe families, others have mortgages, others need new boilers etc and can't afford to do it because of the few in our department.
