Home insurance, they've been making a lot of noise about not penalising existing customers and giving us the same deal as new customers... That will be why the renewal is nearly double then?

It's November 11th....And three.....THREE of my neighbors across the street have put up their Christmas decorations today.

Why not just have them up all year long & be done with it??

Totally agree. Christmas decorations have no right to see November at all.

I'll be putting up my outside christmas lights in the next couple of weeks - they wont' be getting turned on until December but I left it too late last year and climbing a very tall ladder in a funnel effect of high wind speed is NOT fun!!

Decorations are going up all over London now, feckers keep closing the roads...

Not that it bothers obviously, I just cycle down the path...

(gah) Conveyance solicitors (gah) Conveyancing is quite a simple process and thankfully none of our chain are using those god awful conveyance firms but actual solicitors ...but you always get one that sits on documents and feel some kind of superior power for doing so
Thankfully not mine who I've used for many years but some do make it far more stressful than is needed

About time the buying and selling of houses should be changed.. way too big a transaction for the current outdated method

You are so right , This should have been so easy.. My buyers buyer is straight cash no house to sell, my buyer no mortgage, me buying an empty house no chain no mortgage.... on paper easy...wrong. Received and accepted offer October 10th, all enquiries from my buyers all answered the day I received them, all searches in within a week. Problem starts when my vendor is in a home and has 2 very elderly powers of attorney who don't use internet.
Unregistered property not a problem. wrong !!!
The vendors forgot to tell anyone 2 parcels of land had been sold previously ..I'd already found this out early on , then they got the wrong bit of land so registered our purchase with no land (it's the only reason we opted for this house due to the animals we have to house )..

Solicitor sat on docs that should have gone to land registry and we have now had to expedite the other docs over to LR ...our buyers have since exchanged with their buyers (not something I would do) and now everyone has had to organise everything for the completion date agreed and yet without exchange on my house and my purchase.
Vendors solicitor has not felt the urgency and nonchalantly goes on holiday !!

I haven't even seen the house I'm buying I've had to leave it to husband ... had the same happen here and he did well but this one is a complete refurbishment so apart from web pics I'm going in blind again

My wife and her inability to make her mind up (headbang)

She's been car hunting since we moved. I dragged her out of the house a couple of weeks back and forced her to book test drives.

She's now umming and ahhing between two cars. It's come down to colour :? One car is 18 months old and red (which she likes), the other is new, top of the range and black. I've told her she can have the £3k difference from my bike fund if it brings and end to the fecking about and makes her buy one today :D

It's the same car, it's a Mazda 3. The red one is a mid range 2017 model and the black one is the top of the range with all the extras new model. £3k difference.

Neither I nor my wife really give a shit about cars. They need to work and be comfortable, that's about it. I'll use it when I go to see clients so it needs to be able to do motorway stuff. My wife will use it as and when.

It's replacing an old 1996 Mazda 323 which we've had for a few years. I bought it off Rich off this site. It was the car I used when I wasn't on the bike. It's done us proud but the bodywork and the engine are starting to go.

My wife has an old Nissan Note which she bought new back in 2009. We'll keep that as a run about. It's seen better days but it's almost 10 years old and it's and had to endure 2 young kids being ferried about in it.
