I really like bo3 but find my enjoyment is massively connection based. One second I can massacre everyone and the next I'm fodder. I am a bit of a codney fan boy though on xbox since black ops 1.

I was ace at quake 2 and 3. Now I don't bother as I just get killed 50 times a minute by teenagers on call of duty etc Its definitely age.

My lad is chuffed because he appears in some YouTubers video at the recent convention in Birmingham

By appears I mean you can see him jumping about in the background.

Yep, my son does that. I'm sure he spends more time watching videos about minecraft than he does playing it.

Same. Annoys the shit out of me, what makes it worse are the gamers horrible sounding, pubescent and/or droning voices.

They are pretty annoying and I try not to watch their videos and adding to their revenue stream too much. You can pick up tips and map knowledge off them though. In a shooter like call of duty map knowledge is at least 50% of the battle.

My young fella watches walk thrus on any new game he wants, like a religion.

Then when he's either saved up for it with pocket money or a birthday/Christmas rolls around and he gets it he smashes it in about a week and wants something new.

I really wish he'd apply his Austic memory to school work rather than video games.

That's exactly what my girlfriend's autistic brother is like.. sometimes he will just wonder around building random stuff or whatever. He'll never play multiplayer and he isn't actually that good at the games but he would live his life on there if he could.

The only way we can get him to come down off it is with food, pepsi max or cake/chocolate etc! We have to bribe him to do his jobs with one off the list! haha

I know a lot of people like to slag off computer games but I've found with my lad that as much as he loves playing on the Playstation he would far sooner be out on his bike, or having a nerf war, or generally run around like a nutter.

I'd say that's a healthy attitude to have.
As much as my kids like playing outdoors, if they had to choose between the 2 it'd be electronics every time!

I totally agree with that..... as an example, my kid has prolly learned more about modern history than he could possibly ever do through any other medium....not that he necessarily 'wants' to learn about it...it's just ancillary to whatever numbnut game he's playing.

Questions like "Dad, what was it like in the war??" notwithstanding.

I put Pokémon Go! on my phone yesterday.

It's very very addictive. I can see it causing problems as people go walking around looking for Pokémon to catch.

I've had it on for 3 days, initially for the kids, I've never been a gamer. But it is addictive indeed. Me and the lad stopped at a group of pokestops with lures on the way home today and it was incredible how many people were rocking up!

Each of those cars was home to at least two people on their phones and there's about 8 around that table.

We stayed for an hour and caught 31 Pokemon including our highest CP poke

Me and the kids play as a team and who ever catches the poke puts their initial at the end of its name, hence the BEE for Byron (he's Freestyling a bit).

Jess is playing too, so we have some healthy competition. Both on level 8 so far. Would be so much easier in the city.
