Cheers guys, been for a couple of walks today and the Physio seems impressed. Can get about in my room ok unaided just have to be careful how I move.

The biggest annoyance is I can feel the plate that is screwed into my vertebrae against my throat every time I swallow. Apparently you get used to it.

Yesterday I felt like I could be out soon as, today is a completely different story, woke up in some of the worst pain I’ve ever felt. Been told today will be the hardest, and they have stacked the pain meds into me this morning. I should get out early next week sometime but all depends how I go over the weekend and how independent I can get with movement.

Yesterday apparently residual anesthetic was masking a lot and gave me a false sense of confidence and I probably over did it, so today I’m paying for it.

You can have my endone Monty, it’s not agreeing with me, threw up all my breakfast and was spinning so missed my walk with the cute Physio. Surgeon has prescribed an alternative I’m about to try. This is getting stacked on top of Panadol and a long release OxyContin mix called Targin.

That’s exactly the reaction I got to normal morphine and it’s derivatives Kiwi, I now have a list of opiates I’m not allowed, even Tramadol gets me high.

I was looking forward to the self controlled dosage, but the button got taken away after I hit a wall 3m in front of me when I threw up. Fortunately I didn’t have to clean it up as I had just had a hip replacement....

I had endone when I had my septoplasty surgery so not sure why it’s affecting me this time. The replacement (not sure what it is yet) seems ok but they are giving me anti nausea tablets as well. The Targin slow release is going ok as well, this evening has been quite comfortable.

I walked into a wall as well when the Physio tried to get me walking :D

I was on Tramadol too after my hip replacement. At some point I drove into work....didn't know how I'd got there, or why I was there. Very strange effect it has on some people.

Fwiw Tramadol has little or no effect whatsoever on me, other than a tendency to be able to disregard pain sensations.

Great to read that you're recovery is ongoing Kiwikrasher, hope it proves to be swift & comprehensive.

Mrs Nutz has gone to a spa day, so I'm looking after the kids

Planning on a quietish morning before wearing them out at a trampoline park for an hour.
