Replacing the door seal on the washing machine.
Piece of advice, don't ever replace the door seal on your washing machine, pay someone to do it for you. Bitch of a job.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Just having a very lazy day and bought my brother's Christmas gift on amazon, an artisan cheese selection. He's a foodie so will love it.
Must stay off the BMW configurator, I still want to test the R1250RS, I really did enjoy the 1250R but thought the XR would be more me...

Re: What are you doing today ??
I found an old toy box full of the kids cuddly toys. Someone on a local Facebook group was after donations for 3 kids, they needed pretty much everything so I told him about the toys which he said he would take.
When he came round he mentioned a case he's working on. 3 kids, 2 boys, 4 and 14 and a girl aged 12. Their mum is terminally ill, she's not likely to be here at Christmas. The kids have got nothing at all. Just the clothes they're in. They had an adoption family lined up but they've pulled out at the last minute.

Jesus, just imagine knowing you're going to die and leave young kids to this system!

I'm guessing that they're trying to keep the three of them together & that's making things extremely difficult??

Thank you, both. Yes a very busy day considering I'm still working today too. Mrs Cav's bump is starting to form so it's a good sign that baby is growing

Re: What are you doing today ??
Good luck with your day Cav!
Today I went to the opticians and need new glasses, so getting new sunglasses too, called in to work (it's my week off, in lockdown tier3) to pick up my Christmas raffle prize, a Fitbit charge 4. Then went to the gym and realised how lazy I have been on my enforced month off... Will be back at that tomorrow. I want rid of the belly before Easter.

Social didn't call but we've chased them for a call after my training today.
Baby Cav is amazing! The Sonographer was telling us how sometimes, babies suck their thumbs..... I think baby heard because within seconds we could see baby's mouth open and their hand go to their mouth!! It was incredible to see

Re: What are you doing today ??
Hmmm......my mother has been in touch again... indirectly. My natural mother, that is..... not the woman who adopted me, raised me as her own, etc.
Instead, the psycho lady who used to follow me around as a kid, wait outside school for a child that never showed up, & so on. VERY strange situation back then....so much so that my Dad eventually sent a few PCs down to her house to have a quiet word.
I think I'm going to end up having some sort of discourse/rapport with her at some point... for her sake, not mine... because I have very mixed feelings about it, TBH.

Best of luck mate, you might get some info that pieces things together for you.D41 wrote:Hmmm......my mother has been in touch again... indirectly. My natural mother, that is..... not the woman who adopted me, raised me as her own, etc.

As for the her following you about, that sounds like a lady that wasn’t entirely convinced on the adoption process, or has regrets afterwards. I don’t know if you know the situation behind why, but if not might be the time to find out.
My Dad had a son before he married my mum and they had me, who was adopted out. I tracked him down about 7 years ago. Dad and I had about 3 phones calls with him, but after he failed to con us into giving him money he went off the radar. His adopted parents told us he was a drug addict and was constantly looking to extort money from what ever source. He was here in Aussie, over in Perth, but no one has heard from him in 5 years.
Sometimes it good to have the answers even if it’s not the best information. I won’t die wondering now.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Watched my daughter give her School Captain campaign speech at school assembly over zoom. She wouldn’t let anyone help with the speech at all or even see it, and to her credit she did an amazing job. Wether she gets the role or not, very proud dad moment.
She was the only candidate that wished the rest of those running the best of luck and offered her support for who ever got the roles. I must be doing something right
