There's a stomach bug doing the rounds at my son's school.
We sent him in even though he said he didn't feel well

Re: What are you doing today ??
Tbh I'm the first to moan about overtime with over 30 hours for the last two months but as Cookie says the extra money is useful and pays for all those little extras we like to buy.
I get knocked down but i get up again.

You get paid for doing more than your required hours?
I've not had overtime in over 20 years.

Same - my day rate is my day rate. I've been informed next week will likely be 12-14 hour days. No extra money, a nagging wife, not seeing my son and feeling shattered - can hardly wait!! Oh, and it's my birthday half way through the week....fcuking cosmic!!Kwacky wrote:You get paid for doing more than your required hours?

Ouch! That sounds awful Perkles, good luck with that, sounds like some serious drugs are called for.
Today, I'm helping friend try and fix his Renault Espace, issues with the dashboard unfortunately, thing is French cars clip together and generally fall apart, if they don't fall apart on their own, they normally shatter when you take them apart. In for a fun day I think. On the bright side, we'll be eating cake and drinking decent coffee while we work.

Today I went out on my own on the push bike climbed a hill and went to a place called lu luc I have done this before on a road bike. His time I have hired a 29 mountain bike and took the off road route.
Lessons learnt
1. Im not sure about the 29 it holds speed on the road better but I prefer the flickable 26
2. I am no were near as fit as last time I climbed that dam hill
3. Taking no tools/supplies with me when going out all day is not a good Idea especially when I only have the odd sheep for company.
4. The off road way up the hill is very pretty but god dam it's hard work.
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.

I've got a ss 26" it's miles better than the 29r in a forest but down the canal paths I prefer the 29r

Another 5 hours overtime tonight. The extra money is always welcome.

Viv is good. She's snapping away and getting her stuff published.
I bought a Lancaster print for Sam's dad to cheer him up. He was in the RAF for his national service, so he likes his planes.
