Yeah seems to be going well, hard work which is good albeit very tiring, the guy I'm replacing is appalling I'm already doing more in 4 days than he does so as long as I can keep that up its all good, does mean less time on here though as not sat at a desk all dayStMarks wrote:I guess it's always a challenge, in a new role. Settling in any better now mate.?Cavetroll87 wrote: I've just finished my 1st day in my new place, feeling more than a little overwhelmed, plus the guy training me was a right numpty and is leaving so didn't really help, tomorrow one of the bosses is training me so hopefully that will give me a much better idea of what I'm doing

Re: What are you doing today ??
Pleasure and possibly a bit of racing next year Frankie, we promised him a boat for passing his 11+ last year and I've been looking for something decent at the right price ever since. He passed the last of his sail training a few weeks ago, so the heat is on now before autumn stops play (kids can't sail in the winter months). It's up for auction so I'll know on Saturday if it's ours.
On a similar topic, I visited the club where the above boat is stored today, it's a small club set in beautiful woodland facing out onto one of the Norfolk Broads, there are a hundred plus boats there of which only 25 are regularly used and another 25 are so neglected that they are in severe decay. Why would you buy an expensive toy, pay £150+ a year for the storage etc and then leave it to rot? As someone that loves boats and the water, I find wilful neglect like that to be unforgivable. More money than sense some people.

Basically, yes. I keep telling him I need to be more involved but he likes to do it himself.
That said my next trip is Doncaster. Glam is not a word you would use for that place.

Last time I went up to this property there was a prostitute and her pimp on the street corner and a drug dealer walked into the house, saw the suits and walked straight out. He stank of weed.

Re: What are you doing today ??
The school is closed as one of the teachers died of septicaemia during the 6 weeks holiday and its her funeral today.
She'd been there over 20years and as the fun adjuster works at the school, all the other teachers and staff want to go to the ceremony.
So I've booked a day off and taking the Spudlets out to try this new 'foot-golf' as one of the local golf courses has developed one

Waiting to hear how my fatehr-in-law is. He collapsed this morning. They've taken him in and are going to do the tests today that they didn't have time to do last week .
