Oh, I like grey. Back in the early '90s probably 20-25% of the carpet I put down was grey, a similar number for beige, and other colours for the rest.
Then it went away, almost overnight. I bet at least 80% of what goes down now is beige. Frickin' BEIGE!!!!
Bor-ing!

Looks smick Cav
At the airport this morning heading off for work again. Still doing the week quarantine in Darwin but only going out offshore for 2 weeks this time. Got asked to do another week but I’ve been away more than I’ve been home through all of this so turned the OT down.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I suspect we have a faulty actuator on the rig I'm developing so I popped out in the company Tesla to pick up a new one from the subcon.
It's a Tesla Model 3, probably the lowest spec one, and they'd locked it in Chill mode. It was absolutely perfect for daily driving. I think I used the brake pedal 3 times despite driving through 2 towns thanks to the braking regeneration. Very comfortable but there's quite a lot of wind noise.
Would I consider buying one? Definitely. The range would be a problem a couple of times a year, but so long as I had a 2nd vehicle, was okay with hiring one, or was okay with 40 minute stops every 150-200 miles then it wouldn't be an issue.

I will resist an electric vehicle as long as I can, hopefully forever.
I accept the performance is very good and range will undoubtedly improve with battery tech l, but being a die hard petrol head, I need a vehicle with soul, character and the all important noise factor

I'm as big a petrol head as anybody.. BUT.. for a family car it has to meet a criteria and running cost is a huge factor for me. An electric car is unmatched on running costs... they just cost a lot to buy haha.

Fortunately I don't really do the mileage to worry about mpg, which is for the best as I'm getting.
14mpg if pressing on, 19 mpg in town and 30 mpg on a steady long run in efficient map.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Spent half of last night at the hospital with MiL as the doctors rang to say she was not well at all.
By the time we arrived she had rallied a bit.
We had a chat with the doctor who said he felt there was no more treatment they could give her and they would be discussing palliative care today for her.
I had not seen her for two weeks and was quite shocked when I saw how she had deteriorated.
Just supporting the wife as best I can.

I was going to head over to Wales on the bike but the forecast has changed to rain so I won't bother.

That's all you can do, buddy. Just try to remember yourself in all of this too, take an hour out for yourself from time to time; you can't pour from an empty glass.duke63 wrote:Just supporting the wife as best I can.
