When ya size 9 hoofs are hanging out the end of it it’s time to upgrade. He got 9 good years out of it. (nod)

Absolutely nothing at all. Better yet if you can hook up a TV & PS-4 in front of it for some serious Gran Turismo fun.
(Or whatever those games are called),
Sounds great lol

The Arab concerned wouldn’t sell the engine/trans either which was in the garage of the house, nothing else they’d removed, just the power plant.

This was back in the 80’s btw, just to put it in perspective. :D
That's some serious money there, I could afford to gut out a old style Micra for my kid, but i dont think it would have the same.effect hahaha

Nowt. Had to work today (don’t normally do weekends), but on my way back I got 5 miles from home and had to attend a breakdown, fortunately not too far away, but more work regardless. (swear)

Sometimes there are weeks that will not go quietly into the night, they have to be beaten to death with a big stick. This week is one of those. Now fooked and necking a large, strong G&T, with one of Mrs Gee’s Cornish Pasties in the pipeline for later on.

On train to Wigan with my son and nephew to see Norwich play Wigan.

Takes me back to when I used to do these trips with my brother in the 1980s.

Another 28 hr nightmare with Byron. I addressed some less than ideal behaviour of his and he flipped. Tried to clock me again, three separate occasions over 1/2 hr. I was wiser this time and kept an eye on him and managed to block off each hay maker aimed at my head. Jess took Jorja for the night and morning then I got my ex to take her out for the arvo so she didn’t have to be subject to it. I just had to ride it out. I stayed calm and consistent with him I finally won the battle after wearing him out with bush walking and yard chores. This evening his switch flipped back and he resigned, apologised and accepted his electronic ban.

This kid is making me grow as a parent in ways I never thought I’d have to.

Another win though was his mum has finally admitted she lets him away with too much and has committed to up keeping the same rules I do. She had even suggested we look into a therapy dog for him and co-share ownership so he can have it with him full time. Something I floated a while ago and got shot down over.

I'm going to attempt to strip the rear brakes on my car today with the fiancé being my tool handler

I'm not sure this is a great idea of mine but it has an MOT coming up so it needs to be done.

Had a brilliant day today. The kids and I slept in (school hol’s) had a cook up brunch of sausages, eggs and bacon. Made Byron a mocha, the caffeine in small doses seems to focus him, and his therapist has approved my trial of occasional small doses.

After a gulteness local bakey lunch stop went out and hit the Tree Tops Adventure Park, aka zip lines and obstacles high in gum trees. Jorja has my adventurous spirit and we lied about her age to get her on the good runs. Byron surprising loves it too and did me proud as well.

Kids got on all day and I never had to say a stern word. Just tucked them in with big smiles on their dials.

Today was a day you dream of as a parent.

Now to finally watch the MotoGP!

Been to hospital today to see the surgeon about the op in 4 weeks, then a quite lengthy spell getting checked over in the pre op ward by the nurses, as I have high blood pressure etc etc.
This will all be over soon I hope, been 1 year and 1 day since I came off.

Another cracking day!

Jorja was off on a play date again so Byron and I went off road bashing in the 4WD down to a camp clearing in the valley behind us. It’s a basic camping area that gets little use but is a cool little spot.

I took the portable gas BBQ and we cooked up bacon and egg sandwiches for lunch. There’s a hour return trek to a waterfall that we’ve done a few times and had planned to do again but he wasn’t keen.

Now this spot has a sandy ring road/track that circumnavigates the area, and there were no campers set up, place was empty so an idea popped into my head.

“Buddy, you want to learn how to drive?”

His face lit up and he thought I was taking the piss. So I jumped in the passengers seat and said “come on then, let’s do this”

Started him off in 4WD Lo range as a pseudo speed limiter and after two laps and a successful first try at a clutch start I put it back into high range and he did about 6 more starts with not one stall and a good 30 mins of lapping the clearing. Spent most of it in 1st gear with a few explores of 2nd, but it’s a rutted bumpy track so it didn’t feel too slow. He totally loved it and it was great to see him enjoying accomplishing something he thought was beyond him. I got some hilarious video footage and he’s told everyone who will listen what he got up to today :)
