Sitting down with a well earned drink to watch the Man U game.

Been a productive day. Took my lads training kit to the sport's shop to get some decals fitted, took the kids for a bike ride, cut the grass, stripped some furntiure ready for a job tomorrow, washed my bike, washed my wife's car, took the kids swimming and wrote a few admin type emails.

Changed the winter wheels for the regular summer wheels on the wife's car. Got to use my new brake pad gauge too so pleased with the little job.

Upcycled an old chest of draws I've had 20 years and felt wrong getting ridden of them, so there now shelves in a triple wardrobe I keep biking gear in, in the spare room.

Took some rubbish up the tip and helped a chap fit a new gate on the side of the house.

Going to tidy the garage then put my feet up before making tea and off to the cinema with the kids.

Well to me they look no different to the xrays taken 3 hours post op. I expected to see some bone growth in between my vertebrae which would indicate that fusion is successful. A google on the subject gives wildly varying advice on what to expect at 6 week point. So the only positive I can take with my layman’s knowledge is it appears the metalwork and screws are still secure. Not going to worry to much till I see the Neurosurgeon on Monday.

I’m getting some feeling back in my hands so that’s a good sign so early.

I’m hoping she clears me to ride on Monday.

Never use Google for medical advice, far too many unqualified people with keyboards. I would expect your recovery to be very unique to you.

I'm glad to hear it's progressing in the right direction though..

The main thing is to make sure none of the metalwork shifts. Someone I know has had that happen and now has a hole in his back from the metalwork being infected so no antibiotics or medication will stop it. He'll have to have the metal work out but there's not enough of his vertabrae left to replace it.

Not sure if it was due to medical neglect or him doing things he wasn't supposed to

So just found out one of my neighbours (5 doors away) who I have had drinks with a number of times over the last 4 years..... is a serial rapist

https://www.hawkesburygazette.com.au/st ... n-inmates/

He and his missus broke up a few months ago and I was feeling sorry for him. Guess we know why now.

One thing I never liked about him was he was a Harley rider (lol)

The guy is a serial rapist, but the "one thing" that KK doesn't like about him is his bike?

Anyone else find this a bit weird??

Today I'm making good progress with my dissertation and about to have a break from it while I order some stuff for the bike and buy some more shelving so I can store all my other workshop stuff

I'm thinking that a good 6 months of abstinence is bound to make the final return all the sweeter... - another ( 6 months)* is nothing compared to a lifetime of regret, surely.?

* 6 months, two years, ,,, whatever,,,,,
