and mortgage, utilities etc etc. We reckon he's paid out at least 70k without any return.
He's going to rent it once we've finished but it will take a while to break even. I suppose the value of the place has gone up, so hopefully he will break even once it's up and running.
In the midlands - it's only 5 mins from my parents as he was a school friend of mine.

Good job it's a bungalow - it would have come down the stairs quickly - i reckon 200kgs plus this thing.

I had a similar-ish task yesterday of moving my moped (which has been abandoned for 6+ years) with a seized rear brake the length of the garden at my mums. I couldn't undo the steering lock from where thieves attempted to nick it so I had to pick it up from the back and walk like a crab down the garden as best I could. Good job this was just a 50cc!!
We've had the plumber in to do a few jobs for us. We've swapped the radiator in the living room for one 4 times the size of the original. My wife and I use the living room a lot and we want to be warm. He's done some other stuff as well.
We need to get an electrician round next. Once the electrics are sorted then we'll look at the cosmetic stuff.
The rear garden needs some work as well, but my wife and I can't agree on what she wants. The garden alongside the house needs tidying up. I think I'm going for a wildlife/wildflower set up in the front garden.
That’s why there are decorators and gardeners to go along with those Sparkys and Plumbers.
Fwiw decorating and gardening are my two most hated jobs in the house, so I’ve found I’m happier going to work for an extra day or two and paying professionals to do it, they make a better job than I can and I’m not a grumpy arse for days on end.
2 doctors appointments, a quick blood test for me (Diabetic checkup) and then across town to take my mother for a checkup. Then chilling out and enjoying my first day of a week off.

It's not just the decorating thou. I've just looked round our kitchen / diner and although we never budgeted or planned for new furniture and sofa it some how happens when you move in a new place as your old stuff doesn't quite go. Obviously not in one go but I've just added up we've spent 9k in there over the last 18 month's, which is a big surprise as I would think twice if I knew that at the beginning but when replacing piece by piece over 18 months it sneaks up on you
Spent the last 2 hours doing some dissertation work and was very pleasantly surprised that I'm already at 2000 words without having actually written much. The advantages of doing a work-based project are becoming evident.
Most of you are aware that I'm very stressed with everything I have going on and I finally grew a pair and shoved a middle finger up at everyone else's work priorities and put myself and my education first. I've been spending at least 6 hours every working day on my project and I'm making huge progress. I've included a couple of extracts from the documents I've written for work and I'm at 2000 words - good news is there's many more documents that need writing so my dissertation should be writing itself.
This is the most positive I have felt in months!
In other news... the wife-to-be painted my workshop floor for me while I was at work and it looks great. She's planning to do a 2nd coat tomorrow. Should be dry for the bike to come over any time from Thursday onward.
