Mmmm not sure about that mate, go to Padstow and have Rick Steins fish and chips they are to die for.
Yeah, maybe. Never had a chance to get over there and try them.

There is something nice about the traditional style of Harry Ramsden's though.

Poppies in spitalfields London is the place boys, it won the 2014 national fish n chip shop awards.

The food is amazing and the restaurant decor is superb. Done like a 50's diner with old juke box and vending machines plus loads of sporting memorabilia including stuff from the krays boxing career.

I'm on a no sugar, alcohol, wheat, dairy, fruit, rice, or potato diet. Third day in and no one has died!

Basically no grains, carbs, dairy or sugar and they get reintroduced in small quantities in a few weeks. It's the no sugar in coffee and no wine in the evenings that's killing me!

Breakfast was a bacon, spinach, red onion and garlic omelette.

Think I've got a wheat intolerance, wine is back in 7 days so I should be fine.

Yeah loads of things, had a beef curry with dhal last night which admittedly was a bit odd with out the rice and bread. Basically most meat and vegetables.

Must admit though I caved in tonight and had a rice noodle stir fry and a bottle of wine.

The idea behind it is the first week you don't eat any processed sugar, natural sugar in fruit or carbs that your body turns into sugar. Then over a few weeks you start introducing them but in much smaller quantities than before. Have to say 3 days in and already I feel much less sluggish.

I was drinking around 150g of sugar a day just in coffee before. Or 27 2Kg bags a year!

Chuff me that's about what my wife weighs. I've been drinking a small adult in sugar every year, just in coffee!

10 cups of coffee or tea with a heaped spoon full is roughly 150g.

I told my wife I like snacking in the day, so now I've got a variety of flavours and types of nuts to chew on. Salted cashew anyone?

I've never liked nuts.

Love crisps though, but I've cut them out.

Cut out sugar in my drinks too, and never have fizzy pop. tea and coffee did take a while to get used to with no sugar. I did it slowly. From a heaped spoon to level to half a spoon. That was all pretty easy. But out entirely took a while. Now it's far too sweet if I get given one with sugar accidentally.

Just ate a salad, with feta cheese, pork pie and salad cream. Starving still though.

I only snack on fruit if I have taken an anti-hitamine (hayfeaver) tablet, as It appears I have an allergy to most fruit.

Bananas, apples, strawberries, grapes, cucumber...

Fish finger, cheese and hot sauce sandwich, cup of tea and a Welsh cake. I've just done 2 hours of sanding so I felt I could justify that!

Grilled salmon with fried kale and a tomato, red onion and coriander salad. I normally have a sandwich for lunch.

I've been snacking on nuts and saucisson all day!

With you on the coffee D, this is day 4 and I've not enjoyed one yet. Definitely feel a lot better for it though, no sugar ups and downs and loads more energy.

So what do you eat when you're not poor? Grilled Panda cheeks with a steam of blue whale spittle?

(lol) Actually that was a really cheap meal. The salmon came from our local fish vanman (£2 each) and we buy our veg from a local wholesaler so the whole meal only cost around £2.50 each. That's less than a Tesco sandwich.
