I think I keep fairly up to date on new words and language evolution, with the exception of some of the newer, more ludicrous text abbreviations perhaps, but even those pop up from either of my lads at times, but "adorkable" is now a word? The one I like is "Vape", but is it an accident that it makes the word "Vapid" pop up into my head?

Re: New words for old
I was listening to Andrew Marr on the radio the other day.
He was saying how much of our 'news' is actually written by marketing companies and then just fed across the internet as real news. He reckoned very few places actually employ journalists now.
I suspect this very much comes into that category. I bet 'Vape' comes from one of the ecig companies.

Re: New words for old
I clearly spend too much time on twitter as I know most of those.
There are plenty of journalists out there and good ones to boot, but getting your work published is hard. People are less inclined to read long articles online, so good articles with balanced arguments and debate are less likely to be read than they would have been if printed in a newspaper or magazine.

"Ratchet" anyone??
Clearly not a new word, just a new meaning.
A plate of Edie's shite shrimp to the 1st one that gets it.

A woman who thinks she's got "it", but she's the only one who does. Or something like that.
Thot is one of my favourites.
