This is how it ended up...

Apparently she survived with 4 damaged vertebrae and a crushed hand!

Holy airbags! That's an upsetting one, as said above late cut ins are not a great idea, I've seen a few but none that were quite a dramatic as that. She's a lucky lady I think, someone somewhere was watching out for her - another half a metre to the right and ........

Oh My God... I think she needs to be thanking more than the designers of the cars..

Video's like that should be part of driving lessons IMO. When I did the BikeSafe course they showed pics from a few fatals, but used them in such a way as to educate you rather than shock you. It made me pay attention and learn.

as a consequence of the work I do I always make sure I'm not too close to cars on the motorway and leave a gap if the traffic comes to a standstill. My driving has changed quite a lot.

Seen some drivers making ridiculous maneouvres in the last couple of weeks.

Its wet and dark and some seem to carry on driving as if its still a warm summers day. ****.

the one that winds me up is that on the way to uni, in the same place at the same time every day there is a long queue of traffic but people still persist in trying to weave in and out of lanes both over and undertaking beforehand and cutting people up to try and hit the line of traffic around the next corner 1 car further forward like it will actually make a difference to the time they arrive where they are going. Also when people know that the queue of traffic in on lane is because everyone is taking the same exit at the next island so they take the empty lane to jump the queue and at the end just swerve across and cut someone up on the island when they realise they were not able to out drag them around the island.

The worst place for this sort of thing is the Cathorpe interchange coming off the M6.

Fortunately they are doing something about it now some people think they don't have to queue so try and cut in at the very last moment causing chaos on a fast moving motorway.

That particular interchange is a death trap, it was poorly designed when they built it and it's just gotten worse, tbh the M4 interchange east bound with the M25 has exactly the same problems with people cutting in last minute, bloody scary.

Jesus how did he survive. Shows the power of a lorry. What a stupid driver. Only have themselves to blame I'm not heartless but doesn't make me think poor him or anything. Agreed with D6Nutz should be part of the driving test

I agree, who can any sane person enter a lane at any speed without first ensuring there's somewhere to go!

I was impressed with the beahviour of the truck drivers in that clip, as soon as they had passed they'd tuck back into the other lane. It's not uncommon on the motorways around Sydney to have three abreast all travelling at the same speed, completely blocking the motorway.

Me too....he/she didn't swerve or make any radical moves - not entirely sure they would have had time to....but nonetheless it was good driving.

Kwacksterini....you ever done the IAM course, or considered it??

I was very fortunate, with my Dad being a cop....he had a few of the Traffic Division lads take me out......I'll never forget one time, I'd got the car up to 90mph or sommit....and the guy just looked at me and said "What's the problem?? GO!!!!".....I nearly shat!

It's been nicknamed "Elephant Racing" in the UK, it's a pain in the arse tbh. The kicker is that all the trucks are limited to 56mph so only have small advantages, it can take miles for them to make the overtake and doesn't endear them to the rest of the road-faring public. :@
