its more to do with the amount of perfectly healthy animals they put down a year, Im sure statics came out from a whistleblower in 2012 that the previous year they put down 53,000 animals of which at least 3,000 were healthy and killed just due to lack of space after only 14 days, obviously I know whats in the press needs to be taking with a pinch of salt but still seems a bit much

Another one here with bad experiences with a large charity, for years I supported the RNLI with a very high annual membership fee, I sailed all over the UK coast and looked at that money as an insurance policy on mine and my family/friends safety.

That is until I ended up with the RNLI as a customer through work. I've yet to see an organisation as profligate with donated money, the entire operation is run by ex-Naval officers who still think they are Government funded, as soon as I saw how they wasted my money, I cut my membership to the lowest available. I believe in the job they do, and the guys on the boats are heroes, but the Pink Gin old boys club is a joke.

So should all charity workers, work for nothing from a garage in Peckham?

No, not at all.

It doesn't have to be Peckham.

Everyone i suspect gives their money freely assuming every penny is going to a good cause straight away but sadly that can never be the case in this day and age.

At the last published accounts Children In Need had effectively £30,000,000 in cash or very liquid reserves that was not allocated anywhere. I often wonder if people would give so easily in November if these facts were made more public but they work on the basis that next year their income might be nil.
