Ukraine

Post by Kwacky »

This seems to have dropped off the British news. Sadly the situation out there is getting worse. They reckon 250 civilians dead, 200 soldiers killed and 800 rebels killed. The new Secretary of Defence for Ukraine has said they will take the Crimea back off Russia. Thusands of peole have left the country and gone to Russia.

I can't see Putin standing by and letting his neighbour push his navy out of the Crimean peninsula.

It's going to get nasty.

I agree that its very worrying that stuff like this stops making the news meaning most people just seem to forget about it, Ive read a lot of small print on contracts I've taken out lately and they all say exclusions : War and I keep thinking maybe there is more to that than you would think if this keeps going on
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

One of my Facebook friends is a guy who travels round parts of the world on his bike. He posted up an SOS earlier in the week from a couple who were travelling through Russia and wanted to go into Ulraine but all borders are closed and it looked like they would have to travel all the way back to Latvia to get round but their Russian visas would expire before they could make it back to the Latvian border.

Good little article which raises the spectre of Russia creating a new country for its own means.

Putin reckons they're close to agreeinga ceasefire.

I don't trust him. It's an opportunity for the rebels to dig in and be resupplied with ammo and other essentials. I can see it all kikicng off again after a couple of weeks.
