Kate used to make mosaic items, one of which was very popular was a mirror.

Not one postal service/courier insures mirror/glass. So everytime something arrived broke, she had to make a new one by hand and resend it.

In the end it became too risky. Which is a shame as it was something she enjoyed doing and brought a good amount of money in.

Tools. Firstly a set of E torx sockets, (not torx bits), we’ve started using them in critical areas and nothing else fits properly. Also got a 750mm 1/2 drive breaker/knuckle bar, my old one failed a week or so back, it’s not done bad though, i bought it as an apprentice in 1978, I have a feeling this one may throw the towel in way before 40yrs is up.

That’s a good run on a bit of tooling that is used in anger a lot I’m guessing!

The only time I’ve seen them fail is when someone has used a torque multiplier... aka scaffold tube or similar (lol)

To be fair to it, I’ve abused it mightily for years, inevitably it had to fail at some point. I’ve got a 3/4” knuckle bar that’s bent about 20° out of true due to 3 metres of scaff tube on the end and two of us hanging off it, I’m guessing that’ll be the next on the shopping list.

You can always bent it straight tightening something up with a scaff tube, lets say for a troublesome client (lol)

A book we ordered for MiniGee’s birthday, it’s called “Tacopedia”, it’s a a bit of a giggle, but as Tacos are his favourite meal we thought he’d appreciate it. :D
