Whilst I also perceive it as being Ugly as sin, there are some interesting points imo.:
Carbon fibre fork legs, is that ceramic discs ? rear subframe looks like it's a monocoque
I could see the caliper air scoop cooler leading an aftermarket "bolt on bling" fashion for Gixxer owners & suchlike.

I suspect aero is the only real innovation going on right now. Its relatuively cheap.
There is not much point making ever more powerful engines, if they don't have the grip to make it work.
