He said at the time he was disappointed.

I don't read that interview as him showing a change of mind, just him expressing his disappointment that the Ducati relationship didn't work out.

It is a shame as he would have been a challenger for the championship next year on the Ducati.

It will be fascinating next year though.......

How Jorge and Marc react to each other will be interesting.

I'm very excited to see how isolated Lorenzo makes himself as the season progresses. He'll get a couple of good results part way through the season and once he gets the better of Marques once he will isolate himself.

Going to be a fascinating season for sure!

I wouldn't like to be Honda management.

When they signed Jorge he was down on his luck and easy to bill him as no.2 in the team like Pedrosa and largely he would have had to comply .

Now he is confident and back to winning ways the ego won't be anyone's No.2.

I can see fireworks behind closed doors.

Marquez has been at Honda long enough to know how to play them. I really can't see Honda wanting to risk turning Marquez against them. Lorenzo may get the lip service he wants to hear but I reckon MM will still be Number 1 in Honda's eyes.

Totally agree. MM93 is the best rider in motogp and only getting better with maturity. No way Honda risk that, intentionally anyway.

But what if MM93 has expressed a desire to leave as he wants to win on different manufacturers to cement his greatness.

Who knows but I can't see mm93 staying with Honda for ever till he retires, well unless an incident occurs that forces him to retire prematurely.

Lorenzo is 31. For next season, regardless of what MM may say, Honda will back MM 100%.

If in the following season it is known that MM is off then given his age Lorenzo may ask for a final throw of the dice and be allowed to equal footing to MM. But I suspect that in 2020 Honda will want to do everything they can to retain MM's services.

When Alex was working at Silverstone Aleix Espargaro said in a press conference that if MM was on the Ducati, he would be faster than ever as the bike suits his style.

I have no doubt Ducati are fully aware of this and will do everything they can to recruit him in two years time. A perfect match I suspect.

If Lorenzo's presence upsets the order at Honda and rattles MM, that may help fuel the switch.

MM93 drifting the big Desmo would be special 8)

But that's 2 years away. We've no idea what the Honda and what the Ducati GP bikes will be like by then.

Wouldn't it be great for there to be an open season where the top riders can try all bikes and join the team with the bike that suits them best... think how fast these lap records could actually be.

I would love to see MM on a Duke!

That's like my idea to make F1 interesting again.

At the start of the season you have 24 stock cars, all the same spec. 12 teams 24 drivers.

The drivers draw lots for a car at the end of a race so they've got time to work on it. That's their car for the next race. The team can work on a car to improve it (within the rules) but any changes made to the car stay on it (apart from the team livery), so the next driver gets the benefit as well. It levels the field for the teams and the drivers.

Not that I can see the teams agreeing to it.

For such a small person Lorenzo sure does have a big mouth.

He has a lot of people round him that seemingly are 'Yes' men by the looks.

He seems to forget that this team mate of his who is being paid a lot less still has 44 more points than he does this year.

Hodgson reckons that Lorenzo joining Honda means Marquez could well be off somewhere else in two year time.
