22/3/14: Back home and got my poor feet up after a wicked day at the bike show. John's Blade looked very 'factory' and even better in the flesh with the stage lights picking up the sparkle in the silver wrap. The show itself was quite a hardcore affair, with lots of scary looking hog riders, with only the occasional sports biker, but great atmosphere (clap)
Re my leathers...I've decided to get a set made. It's a no brainer really...by the time I've bought a best fit off the peg and then had them altered to fit properly, it would cost me the same to get them made from scratch, plus they'll be unique. Had a good chat with the Dude on the 151's stand and I think I'm gonna give them a go (nod)
Anyway, none of the above is particularly about the racing, but I guess it's the in between bits that get us there...we've used the show to meet more awesome people and put the Pitty's brand out there. It's been a good day, here are some quick snaps...

All interesting stuff and makes us all relaise that race weekend is really just the last part of racing.

BTW, when will Team Pitty be doing their own version of these?

I'm expecting you to be teetering around on some of these at Donny, Moonie. :D

28/3/14:

Quick Donington update recieved today by email, the Pre-National Sport 600 is completely oversubscribed for this event, good news is that we are one of the 44 accepted entries (rock)

There are only 40 spaces on the grid so the last 4 in qualifying will race with the Streetfighters class.

The amazing thing is that in addition to the 44 of us accepted for entry there is a further reserve list of 17!! (nod)

On the preparation front we have to find a little time in between making graphics for customers and sponsored riders and try to get some maintenance done on the van (a broken non-return valve in the water system needs replacing along with some water leaks that need sorting) amongst other things.

Bike wise, the new chain and sprockets are fitted, and alignment is now perfect again. All I can put the problem at Brands down to, is likely to be me not fitting the rear wheel as accurately as I should have after having the rear tyre turned for the last race (facepalm)

Another busy weekend ahead then, it never stops, but its all worth it, work and play (rock)

30/3/14: all the mundane stuff going on today, but it's the prep that is just as vital as the racing (nod) So, Pitty has replaced a valve and repaired the water level meter in the van, and also rerouted some piping. All the newly on-board sponsors are now added to the van sides, so Karl is looking pretty damn pimped in readiness for Doni...bring it on (rock)

4/4/14: mega news today, as we have agreed a deal for sponsorship with ERIKS (clap) They are Europe's leading industrial services partner and we're totally thrilled to have them aboard the good ship PCV!!!

So, here we are, the last weekend before Doni, and there's loads to do in the next few days. We've confirmed a trainee pit crew, by the the name of Lloyd, the son of one of Nige's old work colleagues, who is out to study Motorsport Mechanics and wants to gain some first hand experience at the coal face. He's keen to learn and we're looking forward to welcoming him into the pit (handshake) I'm already planning the catering, and will be off shopping with a big list at some point next week. In the meantime, Nige is putting the final touches to the bike, trawling the net for a deal on race gloves and we are both generally doing that 'headless chicken' thing that we do around about a week before we race :D It's normal and it's a bit like nerves, and keeps us on our toes!!! (gah)
