I think there is a general consensus amongst the biking world that sportsbikes have gone past a peak of useability.
I notice even Michael Neeves was saying the other day that the market now needs more bikes like the upcoming Aprilia RS660, the Daytona 765 and Panigale V2 and the current crop of litre bikes are wasted on anything other than a racetrack.
There is a reason sportsbikes are not great sellers anymore.
That said 2 seonds in the racing world is an eternity.

My Honda is 16 years old and while it can't hold a candle to the performance of the latest and greatest its still a quick and fun motorcycle to ride.

Wasn't their test on Streets of Willow? Even bumpier and a small circuit. On a bigger circuit I'm sure the results are switched.
To be fair to the Ducati, it's well documented that the forks are too soft from stock and need upgrading.

Nah. Streets has a fair bit of elevation change and red/white rumblestrips. And there isn't a tree for miles.
Buttonwillow is fairly flat with red, white & blue strips. And trees. And farmland all around. And it's right next to the freeway.

Button willow has the huge straight and long banked corner though. Ah well, that Ducati would have been tough to turn at high speed with soft suspension anyway. The power argument holds less water if it was Button.
