RAM Mounts + GoPro

Post by Cav »

A mate of mine is looking at yoke-mounted RAM + GoPro mounts for his Daytona 675R and both him and I have questions......

Do you have any experience with them?

Where did you get yours from, how much was it and would you buy again?

Do you have good footage from this mount position?

Seperate question specific for the ZX6R - have you ever seen them mounted through the steering damper mounting bolt? This is what's been recommended for mine and I'm not sure on it

My Hyperpro damper also obscures my headstock, so I just use GoPro sticky mounts.
I've never used a ram mount, but fwiw (after lots of trying different locations) I've decided that my preferred location for my go-pro on my 675 is a mount on the top inside of the screen. I can then locate the camera with a clear view above the screen, or more protected behind it.

There's some better advice in these two threads, if you're interested.:

https://www.675.cc/675/threads/gopro-he ... urs.12210/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Sorry it's not quite what you were asking Cav, but hope it may be of some help.

Thanks mate. I checked out your video too... Cadwell is a snickety little barsteward!

My 2 concerns with that setup are the stiffness of the screen (i.e. wobbly footage) and also my view forward... I've got some sticky mount so I'll take a look.

P.s. Was that a flat mount you used?!

Please don't laugh Cav; iirc the footage you're referring to must be very old footage where I was very sedately tootling round Image
I do love Cadwell.!

The sticky mount I used is a flat, although my screen is an old OEM & not a double bubble or similar where the angle may be sharper.

I also expected that it would obscure my forward view occasionally, however I can honestly say that I've never even been aware of it's presence when out on the track.

Here's a short clip of it behind the screen for extra protection ( it was a LOT wetter than it seems on the footage ).: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-8_Nti1trw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've got the Telferizer RAM mount on my ZX6. It's very good and the rubber helps to isolate high frequency vibration.

Linky here http://www.telferizer.com/products/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ask for Bob.

Any pics Monty?

Unfortunately Blade, the steering damper covers that particle hole so it's no good for the Ninja

Do you have one of those connectors to the GoPro with the single screw in the middle and two female ball sockets either end? I'm intrigued how much it would impair my vision

No mate, I don't use a GoPro. The RAM catalog is massive though, all sorts of different length arms and attachments.

This will screw in like the photo Monty shows but is about a 1/5th of the price.

I like the look of that but bugger.... "always takes 7-11 days" because they ship direct from China. I'll have a hunt tonight. Thanks Blade!

You maybe able to find a UK suppiler Cav.

The other style which I said I purchased was from a UK supplier so they may do both designs.

I'll say I've had Telferizer and I still buy from Bob even now. I had the standard RAM mount but I'll be honest it just isn't the same as Bob's specifically made RAM mount. It's expensive and I'll defo say that but the quality and fit is second to none in my opinion. But jist my 2 pence

If your latest FB post is anything to go by Cav you might not have to worry about a mount! Hope it turns up!

Haha... yeah so that was a surprise. No idea where it's gone but hopefully it turns up.

Thankfully I have my Hero2 laying around so I'll take that but the quality was never good on those

The bike goes away tomorrow and I fly on Wednesday.

I'm actually planning on heading to the Jewellery Quarter this Sunday... Are they GoPros? Thanks for considering that mate :)

Better make sure you don’t leave any memory cards with ‘cuddles’ sessions on them in the camera (lol)
