He's fast, no doubt. But I wouldn't call it a comprehensive thrashing. He's behind the taxi for half of the lap and only manages to do him on the fast section at the back of the circuit.

A place where circuit knowledge is definitely a huge advantage.

The m3 must be de-restricted. At one point the v4 is doing 177mph and he is not closing on the car and most M3 are limited to 155mph.

4 wheels, big brakes and driving the circuit a few hundred times are all in the driver's favour.

I'm taking nothing away from the V4 and the rider though. His commitment into corners is a joy to watch.

A car will always be faster than a bike on a circuit, and especially the 'ring.

Also, those taxi drivers don't go flat out because an 8 minute lap is still ridiculous fast for a passenger and pushing the car and tyres (obviously increased wear) to get a 7min 30secs lap is not worth it

It's pointless to compare the two. They're poles apart....which is kinda the whole idea.
