More anarchy on the streets

Did anyone ever think they would see the day where a Tory Govt decided law and order was a very low priority?

From what I'm seeing and reading it's still an issue but the Police in London and a few cities have done a decent job in tackling this problem. A lot of the main activists have been targeted.

But the argument remains - there aren't enough police.

Do you feel more police will act as a deterrent, a consequence, or both?

It's gone beyond that. Police numbers have been so drastically slashed that a lot of crimes are no longer investigated. One police force has admitted that 53% of reported crimes are given a crime number and that's as far as it goes.

Other police officers have reported being unable to attend to calls for help from their fellow officers.

Yet more is expected of the Police. As services for mental health have been slashed the police are increasingly finding themselves having to look after or find accommodation/treatment for those in need.

Criminals know there's not enough police so they've become brazen.

Even car drivers know there's very little chance of being caught, which is why do many cars are driven now without insurance, with false number plates, without a licenced driver or with a driver under the influence.

So more police are needed simply because we don't have enough.

By comparison, what is crime like in Germany?....because Police per capita, the two countries are very close numerically.

Or the three countries ....I pulled up figures for England & Wales combined.

Poor guy. A decent working man looking out for his kids and he ends up dead for daring to tell them to move on.

Don't spend money on law and order and you end up with anarchy.

I used to know Karen to talk to. She played for Birmingham City and used to train in the same gym as me. Nice woman, very down to earth.

I was watching the BBC News this morning (too lazy to change channel) and they were talking about crime statistics. Something like violent crime up 20% and murder etc up 14% - all in one year? WTF!

It's like no-one in government cares.... oh hang on, they dont :(
