The hardest part has got to be telling your body to relax, otherwise it's going to hurt more.

Yep...very counter-intuitive to learn.

I read somewhere ages ago....can't remember if it was a cycling magazine or a bike magazine....."imagine your body as a wet rag"...and "start by relaxing your hands, and everything else will follow suit"....or something along those lines

My military parachute training taught me that and I’ve put it into good practice on the mountain bikes, trail bikes and track bikes ever since (rolf)
