I have really tried to rein in my desire for toys in recent years but.....................I WANT ONE!

When i was lucky enough to have that Panigale trackday, you could really feel that bike's electronics allowed me to try things i wouldn't otherwise i have done on a track...this seems to have taken things a big step further.

Chris Northover is a top rider and a decent bloke. Spent half an hour talking bikes and shit with him at the NEC once.

I would have thought it to be closer.
Could the electrikery be playing a part in this ?? Watching the videos there is an orange light on the left hand side of that dash that seems to light up when the power is applied and will go off after a while in the same gear. Interestingly (or may be not) you don't see the same light on the dyno run.

Could this be the TC / Anti-Wheelie / Anti-everything-trying-to-throw-the-bike-at-the-scenery controls keeping things in check and slowing the bike down ???

I'd guess it was more to do with the tyres.

Also I'm sure I heard the Ducati test rider in the video say 4 seconds.

4 seconds slower than the motogp lap record on a street bike with street tyres is amazing.

That must be very close to what the CRT bikes were doing only a few years back.

I wonder how quick they could get the lap if Ducati threw slicks and Lorenzo on the bike (lol)

Worth going to 15 minutes in and watching how the new Ohlins suspension works and can be adjusted. It now gives you more of what you want to feel rather than restricting you to numbers on a dial for compression and rebound damping.

Totally agree Duke, the event based suspension tuning is a leap forward for a road bike. I’ve totally changed my mindset to suspension since modding the Multi Ohlins to semi active. Less faffing about more performance

My boss went to the launch event at his local dealer intending to buy one, but decided it wasn't for him. Came home with a 1299 S and a heavily discounted full Akrapovic race exhaust instead. It going on a BSB race teams Dyno next week (218bhp apparently) and then off to Dream Machine in a few weeks for an Anniversario paint job.
