Thats total crap that it's got to the point that the robbers are so care free they will do it in the open and daylight like that! I guess the only way you are going to stop it is remove the demand for stolen bikes. The European countries these bikes are going to, need to have better checks and controls on VIN's and the like to prevent them being re-birthed. In Australia if a car or bike is written off, it can never be re-registered. That change has reduced the amount of re-births dramatically, as wrecks were being bought for their legitimate "tags" (VIN, engine no., number plates) and fitted to stolen to order cars.

I don't lock my bike with any additional security at all, there is not really a need to where I am. I do need to get around to a ground anchor at home as I'm away for 3 weeks at a time, but right next to the bike in the garage is my tool cabinet with grinders, bolt cutters and hacksaws, so I'm wondering if there is any point!

I guess it's London is it? Surely police can see or trace this on the multitude of cameras around the capital?

Fwiw if I'd been there, I think I'd have been tempted to nick their (probably stolen) scooter whilst they were occupied.
As well as making their getaway more difficult, and giving the police something to work with forensically, the irony of the act would give me considerable pleasure.

That's in SOHO square by the looks of it which is a very busy area, I walked through there a few days ago, wish I could catch somebody doing that (punch) (punch)

No but i reckon that would be easily spotted on a CCTV camera quick enough to send Plod round to nick the cnuts.

Someone ought to have jammed that spade through the scooter wheels with them on it and watched them fly. (devil)

What's the typical police/emergency response time in Central London, does anyone know??

Does 4-7 minutes sound about right??

Interesting video.

It's a bit shit that so many proper scooter riders are getting the backlash, but needs must I guess.

Seems to have gone viral big time. Even the national press are covering it. Might make the scum think twice for a while.
