Carried on using the CBR
Sold the CBR and bought the zx6r.

Dull

The cbr does the Honda stuff. Well built easy to ride and reliable. The kwak makes me laugh when I ride it. It's faster with more grunt.

bought to get to and from work at 16 It was not the most reliable having to swap spark plugs on the side of rode if it was wet but did 60 flat out just.

Yamaha TZR125-Blue with gold wheels

Had 10 months mot on it when I got it, harry potter must have owned it to get it through though, had to do loads to it to keep it on the road. Had my first few spills on this one and generally rode like a twat all the time with the exception of the times when I had offs. oddly enough they all happened when I was tootling around casually and involved cars pulling out or lane change e-stops. made the mistake of buying a cheap rear tyre and it always used to step out, looked good but got scary at times.

Kawasaki GPZ750- Blue/Black/Silver (shoddy home spay job by previous owner)

Another botched project by a previous owner, again must have been one of harry potters mates with the wizardry involved in them getting a 12 month sticker on it. I kept it running against all odds and managed to get my money back on it from a guy who wanted a winter project. Almost fell off the back on my first day out on it after the step up from a 125 trying to ride it like a 125 2 stroke

Yamaha YZF1000R Thunderace- Red/White... Both thunderous and ace

My first fast bike, couldn't believe how much tyres cost and how quickly they would wear out along with the cost of plastics. Hell of a lot quicker than the Kwak, also worried myself when I first opened it up as I did when I first got the kwak. Did my first couple of accidental stoppies on this when I misjudged how fast the thing actually accelerated when nipping past a couple of cars towards a junction in the distance. It survived a lowside on a diesel spill with minor cosmetic damage and an off road trip at 60(ish)mph on a muddy country lane (night time and didn't spot the mud until it was too late and bike started to squirm mid corner, front started to go and I had to stand it up) followed by a worrying (and my first) slapper as I re-joined the road from a verge whilst avoiding a signpost

P.O.R. Apache 250- Black and green

I almost forgot about this Chinese piece of Crap. Bought for and used for commuting after searching for an off/on road bike for ages and missing out on all of the jap bikes I went for. Spent most work days getting the tool room to turn down and fabricate new parts for it since the standard cheese it was made of broke so easily. lived most of its life in parts, either at home or in the bike sheds at work. Went really well in the snow though. Vowed never to buy Chinese again.

Honda Melody 50cc bored out and tuned- Red.. owned for two weeks and sold on

Bought for someone I know that needed one as a workmate was selling it. Rode it for the two weeks while he got the money together for it, great in town, comfy but gutless on A roads.

Yamaha XJ600N(2010 version)-White

My first spangley newish bike and first 600. Goes well but I always want a bit more power after the YZF1000R. If I have the money in the future I would like this to be my commuter/second bike but I can't justify or afford more than 1 at the moment. Also doesn't sound as grunty as other bikes I have had

Not many bikes but had each for at least a few years before moving on. Always been too skint to keep swapping. Most were bought as cheap sheds on their last legs, maintained and run into the ground or until I couldn't afford the parts to get them through an mot.

Honda Vision (It was a long time ago and we all had to start somewhere.... Right ???)
D600 Silver : Seriously tough bike, took 3 crashes before it finally got written off.
XJR1300 Blue - Bog standard apart from cans, handling characteristics of a large barge !

2 1/2 crashed on my list but none written off, cosmetic damage and noting I couldn't straighten except one end can I had to replace. the 1/2 was a stationary snow drop on the xj6n but I'm not sure if it really counts.

Started at 18 with Cagiva Mito 125, yellow, great little bike but didn't work properly from new.



Sold after 6 months for ZX7R. Restricted to 33bhp. Restrictors were easy to remove. Sold for scrap after 3 months following T junction incident which put my head through a wall, ruining my Hodgson replica lid.



Bought 1997 TL1000S with proceeds from trade sale. Very loud, handled like a boat, great motor. Insurance pricey at 18. Kept eating clutches so bought something reliable, a 1999 anniversary Fireblade.





Moved to IoM with Fireblade at 19, selling TL shortly after. Learnt the TT course instead of socialising. Loved the bike until TT04 getting overtaken with throttle to stop in 6th on Mountain Mile with 171 on speedo. GSXR1000K3 cruised past...

Ordered GSXR1000K4. Continued to spend evenings and weekends on TT course. Absolutely loved the bike. Fitted Racefit Slash cut pipe, could only get away with it on IoM!



Moved back to England, selling Gixer in process. Needed a commuter so bought 1999 R1. Was convinced it was trying to kill me so px'd for dream bike....a 996 SPS.



Continued to commute which wasn't as comfortable on the SPS. Took it back to the IoM for TT08. Revelled in the mid corner stability but cursed the lack of stomp up the mountain. Sold for car a year later (you IDIOT!!)




Looked after a mates ZX7R for 2 years to keep insurance going. Never rode it.

Fast forward to this week, picking up my Daytona 675 on Saturday! First bike in years!
