Binno, they are black tip reef sharks, averaging 5-6 ft. And seriously as a experienced diver, I'd get in there no dramas. Except a work mate is an ex commercial offshore diver, and he reckons a few feet down there's tiger sharks waiting for a munch, so I've had a change of heart!

Monty, as for the chum, your not far off. This is where the macerator outlet is. So all our food scraps and sewage goes thru a big muncher and into the sea. So major food source for little fish that attract big fish!

I guess that explains why there are so many, in such close proximity.
I think my heart would be in my mouth if I came across a 5-6 foot shark, even if I did have your knowledge of their "relative safety". Do we assume the Tigers are even larger, or are they simply more aggressive.?

I've known the term "shark infested waters" for years. Since I was a kid.
That puts the term into perspective.

To put it nicely, HOLY ******* ****!

Tigers are bigger and way more aggressive. Three sharks I'd never want to stumble across underwater, a tiger, Great White or Bull shark, unless I was on a cage.

I heard it reported that Bull Sharks have the highest testosterone of any animal, thats what makes them so dangerous, well that and the fact they can swim in salt and fresh water so frequently swim up rivers

Also the power of a Tiger Sharks jaws mean they can bite clean through a green turtle, so I agree that I wouldnt wanna dive with them

(I watch a lot of Shark documentaries cos im a bit of a loser lol...)
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

Seeing as being on a rig is a bit like being in a prison, I wonder how many people who whistle all the time, piss on toilet seats , drink the last of the orange juice or any number of mindblowingly irritatingly things have been chucked over into a scene like that.

Who would know ?

Not at all mate, they are fascinating creatures, I quite happily sit down to a shark doco anytime!

Your back to back would know when they turned up for handover (lol)

There are times you would quite happily toss someone over, but I just remember once I'm through my swing I don't have to see them for at least a month normally, and smile. Especially works good if your due off before them, you make sure you rub it in for the last few days (devil)
