I have the exact same issue in that I am more comfortable in lefts than rights, I read somewhere its to do with being right handed and that that side is stronger than the left hence being better when using it to hang off the bike, I also suspect its because I threw it up the road on a right hander lol
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...
