Matlock Bath Breakfast - 11th March

Post by Kwacky »

Weather dependent but how about meeting up for breakfast (Monty can recommend a place, I'm sure) and then seeing if we want to go out for a bit on the bikes or head home?

10am meeting time?

Ah, Bad choice then on my part. I didn't realise it's mother's day. I booked up for most of March with my lad and his black belt training.

I'll see if my wife can take him training on the 19th, if that works for people?

I hate organising ride-outs :D

Let me check tonight for dates in March. Let me know if people prefer a Saturday or a sunday and if they've got any dates to avoid.

I know what you mean Kwacky it's usually a load off hassle, for no thanks and if it goes wrong in anyway it's your fault (swear)

I m not around much in March so will watch the thread and see what suits you and if I can fit in I'll pop over.

Yup!

I miss the old days when you called your mates up at about 7pm (from a landline) on a Friday night and asked them where we going?

How about the Old forge at Moneyash, they usually have a big coal stove on the go if it's cold.
Good food as well.

Never had Sunday lunch there to be fair, but last time I went I'm fairly sure they microwaved my steak!

Lovely spot though, we go there quite a lot in the summer. Kids love the playground and we can see them from the beer garden.

Just done a Google search as wasn't sure where The Bulls Head was. Gets good reviews and looks a nice place with plenty of bike friendly parking.

There was some discussion on the date as a clash with Mothering Sunday. Did you finalise a date Kwacky ?

I'm leaving it as it is. I realise it's not the greatest of dates but I can't do the Sunday before (Alex's black belt training) or after and it's highly likely my wife is out on Mothering Sunday.

I'll do another one in April. Once my lad has done his grading I'll have a lot more time at the weekends.

Right, My daughter is doing a dance competition every Sunday in March, so I can't book anything as I've got to be around for my son.

So the only date I can do is Saturday 11th March.

Can anyone meet up then?

So my niece is hosting a cake & tea party in order to raise funds for a trip with the Girl Guides.

It falls on Sunday 11th.

In some random twist of fate, both my wife AND my mother-in-law have agreed that there would be nothing to do for me there, aside from eat cake and drink tea.

So I have a green light to come out on the bike. And eat cake and drink tea, probably!

Is this still on?
