Well there we are, another euro track day finished, at a track which is one of the all time greats for bike racing, and to be fair the track did not disappoint at all, it was bloody awesome.
We had lots of rain both mornings, causing the track to dry out on average mid morning ish, but never truly in places.

Will still had places that seemed to take all day to dry if at all, but it did not stop the fun, not one bit, it really did keep you on your toes. Day one Mick and myself did put the wets on for the early sessions, which was good fun.

Day two we waited as long as we could before getting out on the drying track, I made the most of my time on track for sure, some serious amount of laps put in.

I have no idea of what I was doing in laps times on day one, but day two I switched on the free app, race chrono, and started to record my lap times which were progressing throughout the day end up with the best lap recorded of 2.17...which was not to shabby. Got some nice compliments from a few guys on my riding, which as we all know a little praise boosts you even more. 8)

Bike worked really well, tyres wore very evenly, my body on the other hand is feeling it for sure ha ha. Looking back I think it's due to the constant added tension of the damp (in places) track, I felt a little more concentrated and most likely stiffer body position.
Anyway in conclusion it was great to try the track, I would love to do again, but not so late in the year, it seems that it will be like this weather wise at this time of the year from what others have said. I know when I was reading about the track, Mr Niall McKenzie says the paint is grippy in the wet, but hey I don't have the cahoonas to try that one out ha ha ha.

Pics and possibly vids to come when back home, but as my body woke me this morning moaning and groaning every time I turn I took the opportunity to jot down a little post.

Roll on Almeria :)

Yet another result from Team BBS Eurotracks, (y)

Clearly haven't been following this thread but have read your little write up. Sounds great fun.

On the topic of tyres, can you buy them there from Gary, how much does he charge to change them over while there?

Gary had always talked about his track trips and I have yet to be on one! Maybe one day I will but I keep thinking I must get on one as it sounds great fun

We really should try and get a tankslap UK trackday organised next year.

Lots of us in the North West and Midlands so Outlon Park would seem the natural choice. Great circuit and only about an hours ride for a lot of people so most could ride over on the day and save on hotel costs.

Or Donington seeing as it's central. Oulton is over 2 hours for me.

Donny is not ideal for me and I guess it will be impossible to please everyone. See what comes up next year and take it from there. It was just an idea as would be good to get a group of us on track together.
