Its the way forward

I'm sure I read Aprilia are bringing one out based on the new 660 engine too.

Aren't these bikes all a bit like SUV's in the car world? Bigger and higher centre of gravity but don't offer anything more than a normal car/ bike? They cost more and no-one takes them offroad anyway?

Just saying.. ..

Maybe. I just see them as a more practical day to day motorbike. You don't have to take them off road to justify owning one in the same way you don't have to track or race a sports bikes bike to own one.

With the state of our roads some off road capability isn't a bad thing.

I think it depends on the model. Some of them have genuine off road capability, a few don't. I don't think most riders have the skills to take them properly off road but the odd gravel road sounds like fun to me.

I do suspect mainland Europe has much more opportunity to ride these bikes in the environment they were built for, than the UK does.
