2021

Post by Kwacky »

Anyone looking at getting another bike next year?

I keep looking at the RS660 and the V2. I'm not getting any younger so the years left to own a Sportsbike are dwindling.

IMO it's easier to keep the MV if you go for the RS660 as they're quite different..... but imagine walking in and seeing a V2 and F3 side by side....

Always looking at other bikes.

Current to test ride list is:

Yamaha Tenere 700
KTM 790 Adventure ( while its still so cheap)
Ducati Scrambler

I also keep looking at Ducati Hypermotard/Hyperstrada and the 950 Multistrada.

I wanna have a go on a scrambler.. I reckon that would be an awesome little sub 80mph toy and a right hoot for a commute.

I doubt I'll be doing any test rides but my local Aprilia dealership is getting an RS660 in so I should test ride that really.

Just bought a new bike, a BMW R1250RS. The garage is getting full with the 3 Ducatis in there too. At least everything is paid for. I doubt that I will look for another bike for the next year or so.

Fwiw I still love my little old MTX200r for blatting round town & suburbs. A little hooligan machine that's light and nimble, able to carve through the trajic jams of rush hour, and leave everything at the lights (even the most expensive of exotica ).
Also no devaluation, she's worth a lot more now than when I got her in 1984. :)

If I don’t trade the GB up to another bike this break I’ll be definitely into another bike 2021.

Have completely talked myself into a Thruxton 1200R now and have a few to look at when I get back.

It'll be the year to decide whether I stay biking or not, so I'm hoping to keep getting out on the old Zed and reignite the passion.

And I'd better buy a house before I get a bike.

Never give up....it limits your options.

I don't want to, I just need to discover the passion again. I'm sure it'll come, it's just been a shit year and now it's cold!

I'm going to be able to change bike around August so yeah, I might have to scratch the BMW itch but as I can only have one bike it's hard to choose. I will get some test rides in the spring/summer.

Perkles has been looking at Indians.

There's going to be a chrome polishing thread next year.

If you haven't already seen it, have a look at the Tec Bike Parts YouTube channel. The guy is good at customising bikes in the right way making them faster and better to ride..

Testify!

I did fire it up the other day, which stopped a toddler in his tracks walking past the house.
Apparently he loves bikes (his dad was admiring it as well) and just stood there, staring at it. When I offered a closer look though, he hid behind his parents.

Little fanny!

Anyway, where was I?

Oh yeah, the bike.
The smell, the noise, it all came flooding back and got the juices flowing again, so signs are looking good.
