Post by Perkles »

I am either going to buy an original blade 92. or it seems the 2007 is a bit of a bargain are they any good ?

Only if they're in Repsol colours.

I would watch it with the early blades - there's a lot of really shit examples about and some of them need quite a lot of work doing to them.

If you're going down the 2007 route make sure it's not an old track bike.

Avoid any with the 16 front as they're difficult to get hold of tyres and the conversion to a 17 isn't easy.

I really like the underseat exhaust model blade (if that's an 07). Very good reliable and sweet handling bike. Repsol colours hold their money best. HRC colours are second best.

Don't know much more than that

Seen a nice one locally with loads of bling full service history but 29000 miles ?
I went to the super bike factory yesterday and the bikes were a heap of shit ,the salesman couldn’t tell the difference between a 600 and a 1000 either !

I did try and warn you about that place (lol)

That's not high mileage if the bike has been looked after. The suspension might need a refresh and I would check anything that's rubber on it.

Personally I would prefer a higher mileage bike that has been well looked after over a low mileage bike that hasn't been ridden/serviced for years at a time.

30k isn't heigh either IMO. My XR has 15k on it already and it's only 2 1/2 years old, I would expect it to be at least double that at the end of the PCP.

Lad on 1000rr.co.uk had 85,000 miles on his and going strong with no issues.

As long as it's being well looked after with consumables regularly replaced it should be reliable.

Obviously price needs to reflect the mileage.

Good choice sir.

I would check out the R as well as the RR, both are brutal weapons.

Yep. Mileage should be something you consider when you're buying, but not the only thing.
I think people tend to latch onto the mileage figure as their only guide. It'll tell you a lot about a bike, but it won't tell you everything.
