Re: Panigale V4 Superleggra
Nice... I'm keen to try and get a test ride on one of the V4s next year.

Ducati are good with test rides. They let me take the bike all day. I did 260 miles on it to get a good feel if I wanted to buy it

Re: Panigale V4 Superleggra
Those who have been contacted by Ducati to gain who is interested have been offered a package to ride the V4R Wsbk bike or the Desmo MotoGP bike too if they buy one.
Silly money mind.

I reckon it will be north of 80k but then if you've got 80k for a bike you've got 90k for a bike.duke63 wrote:Those who have been contacted by Ducati to gain who is interested have been offered a package to ride the V4R Wsbk bike or the Desmo MotoGP bike too if they buy one.

I guess what I'm saying is the people with the ability and desire to buy will buy it and the wsbk or Motogp ride are priceless money cant buy experiences.

Blade... why don't you buy one?! Get the experience, keep the bike for 2 years and sell it on at a premium?

I so wish I'd done that with the Desmosedici RR in 2008. They were 40k with 3 years servicing included. Even now 11 years later they are fetching around 60KCav wrote:Blade... why don't you buy one?! Get the experience, keep the bike for 2 years and sell it on at a premium?

Like Monty I regret not buying the Desmo GP bike back in 06. I was even in the factory the day before its launch and in Ducati hospitality at Mugello on the day it was launched. Should have bought one, big regret

Re: Panigale V4 Superleggra
I should like that Panigale V4 Superleggra,,, but.
Don't like those straight style wheels
Don't like those daft winglets
Would want a more interesting livery for such an exotic variant.
So, reluctantly, I'll have to pass on buying one of these.

How about this one? I'd take this over the V4 every day of the week.StMarks wrote:I should like that Panigale V4 Superleggra,,, but.

Re: Panigale V4 Superleggra
I'm with you there, Monty.
Though a Desmo might have increased in value by £20k over ten years, it would have cost that much to keep it serviced and maintained.

Bugger the investment, I was going to buy it run it for 3 years and sell it. Would have cost me 3 sets of tyres!duke63 wrote:I'm with you there, Monty.

Nope. Ugly red wheels, ugly green paint. Looks like a giant motorized Mexican flag.

Re: Panigale V4 Superleggra
The insurance is a killer. I did a quote on a Superleggra about 3 years ago and the cheapest quote on a comparison site was £8000 per annum. For comparison a Panigale 1299 was 300 quid full comp. I rang Ducati Specialist insurance and got that down to £2000 but factor in 10 years of insurance, running costs and fuel and your £20000 investment profit is actually a loss.duke63 wrote:I'm with you there, Monty.

Plus how much would your 36k grow in an investment fund over 10 years.
Very few bikes if any actually make money in real terms tbh. That's not the only reason to own a special bike but justifying it as an investment is harder than you think, especially if you do real maths and not just man maths

Re: Panigale V4 Superleggra
3 year warranty and 3 year servicing included. Although as blade points out the insurance would have been an issue and I'd not factored that in. Maybe I could have just about broken even after 3 years depending on the mileage.duke63 wrote:Throttle bodies on the D16 are £5k a time and are a common fault.
Anyway, it's all a pipe dream now, can't see me having that sort of spare money hanging around the place again, this was all pre-kids.

That is a proper luxury toy, one I'd only afford if I won the lottery and won it big
I personally think its lovely, if I was a millionaire then it would have it's own room in my home!
