First I knew about my crashes was when I saw the bike carrying on without me and wondering why I was no longer on it :D

I was sliding on my backside across the Donny tarmac thinking "that looks like my bike" as the yellow whale span sideways towards Craners :D

Damn.. my cover as Ducati's top test rider is blown! (giggle)

Unlike you lot I haven't crashed on circuit and I hope that it stays that way. Who knows what will happen when I get my Ohlins in and get carried away with a handful of break at the apex (lol)

I also thought "Cav" when that image was posted. :D

Fwiw I'm the (other) exception.: Thus far each of my crashes on track have been "almost expected", and have been far outnumbered by the number of nearly-crashes that I haven't had where I've somehow managed to stay on "despite......"
I've never yet (thank goodness) lost consciousness from one. I think that would upset me more than a bit of injury pain.

:D If you have not crashed yet then you are not trying hard enough - that’s what my ex-racer mate used to say.

MM93 would probably say you have not found the limit yet.

CS27 would tell me my ambition outweighed my talent.

I'm flattered! :P

Well it can't be said that I don't try hard #Elbow. I just have a very structured approach to my track time and also have enough about me to consciously think "what's the best thing to do now" when things go wrong. I've ran off circuit twice and not fallen either time. One was entering the gravel at 90odd mph in Catalunya. The other was at the last corner of Pembrey, I took 2 stabs at taking the turn before aborting and getting onto the grass at about 20mph.

I agree 100% that I can be better, faster and more daring but I am also incredibly happy when me and my bike are intact at the end of a trip :)

And how it should be done.

Alex Valia Ducati's main test/development rider...10 seconds off the best MotoGp race lap time on a roadbike with 'only' 160bhp with road tyres is mighty impressive.

Amazing isn't it, if you took away the speed and lap timer you wouldn't say it looked that fast.

Just reading about it in this months Bike Magaizine. Very desirable, reliable and well priced bike.

Its 5k cheaper than the cheapest Pani v4 and a whopping 20k cheaper than the v4r but still maintaining that premium, exotic bike feel and being more than enough for any rider who isnt a racer.

Can see it selling well on PCP deals.
