2020 Africa Twin

Post by Kwacky »

Details to be released next Monday. There isn't much known at present. It's up to 1084cc but the rumours are it only gives it a 3bhp increase. Oh the joys of Euro5.

I spoke with my mate at Honda. He doesn't know much, Honda haven't told them anything other than there's going to be two models, one for Europe and a shorter one for the Asian market.

But an extra 10 torques across the rev range?

5kg lighter
EURO5 compliant.

A six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit now manages riding modes and HSTC as well as three additional systems - Cornering ABS, Wheelie Control, Rear Lift Control, plus new cornering detection functionality on the DCT version.

A full colour 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen incorporates Apple CarPlay® and Bluetooth connectivity.

Dual LED headlights feature Daytime Running Lights (DRL)

Cruise control is fitted as standard.

No idea why it needs wheelie control. I can't hoist the front on mine.

Power and torque aren't increased by much but I suspect there's a lot of untapped power there once the Euro5 crap is junked. You can already get a full system for the AT and the ATAS.

Could be useful. The newer BMW's have their own system that's similar, you can get text and phone control from the bike and also satnav with traffic on the dash rather than separate systems.

BMW also have the wonderwheel to make using the apps and stuff much easier while on the bike.

Good video. It sounds like there are lots of changes to the new bike.
