By way of an update, they have now officially written the bike off. Sad to see it go, but it's done now.
We've got some paperwork to sort over the next week or so and then i guess a cheque will arrive at some point.

Well just to round off this episode the insurance finally paid out today.
We have to wait for various bits of paperwork to catchup with this and a certificate of destruction / sale and then we can cancel the insurance policy we are still paying on a pile of bits
Work will then begin in earnest for a replacement. We have already been to the local Ducati dealer who was crap (no demo bikes bar a Multistrada??) so a decent dealer will be found.
I'm tempted to test in France and buy nearly new in the UK so may need a slapper or two's help depending on how it plays out. No rush as Mrs C doesnt ride for 6 months of the year anyway. We do need to find one for people to ride next year in the summer
