On the back roads in dynamic it's something else. It's so light round a corner and tracks every line you give it. The suspension is like nothing else I've ever experienced. Judging by the chicken strips on the rear tyre and the runs I've been doing on familiar roads, I'm never going to get anywhere near the limits of this thing.

I’m in the same boat mate, 5 minutes on a sports bike and that inflection on my neck I’d have no feeling in either arm. I’m much more comfortable on the Multi and I’m no slower.

I still yearn for a sports bike but it would just be a garage ornament.

Buy a Street Triple RS. All of a Sportsbike but without the back ache.

I've really settled into this bike, it feels like I've had it ages. It inspires confidence and makes you feel great when ever you ride it, it also makes life so easy and comfortable when you need it.

Had a witth meal during the week, left to head home at 8pm. Surprisingly the A34 was empty, so I flicked on the cruise control, sat back and relaxed. 20 or so miles burned in no time at all and no effort.

Due to a rear puncture, put new tyres on today, went back to Avon as they lasted so well on the vfr they had to be worth a go. Fitted the Spirit ST, the successor to the storm 3d, so let's see how they stack up.

Current mileage: 12,155.

Cruise control on a bike is brilliant as you can give your throttle hand a rest. It's the biggest thing I will miss.

I don't even have cruise control in my car.. driving 17,000 miles a year mostly on motorways without cruise is pretty crap

I had the cruise on the Speed3 yesterday and in the motorway is was useful. Would be good on a euro tour on the motorway stretches.

I was going to go on a rant about how shit the weather was today, but then realised the positive.

The XR is insanely good in the wet, seriously, it is good. You know the electronics are there and they are helping out (maybe a lot) but you can't feel it. The traction coming off roundabouts and corners is immense and the QS makes it effortless. No drama, no flashing lights, just confident acceleration.

Raise the screen and you could almost forget it's raining.

I was given the heads up on the new Avons when I had mine fitted, the word was Good.... Happy days, as for cruise control, I dont use on the car, none of the muppets around me can keep to a constant speed i have to keep turning it on and off.... I have got that parking gizmo on my car as well and i still have not tried it lol..., Its now on 110K ish.... I dont think I will ever use it.....

Frankie, unless the roads are clear you need to set cruise control to a random speed.. something like 76mph

I've realised there have been very few updates on this thread. There is a reason, the bike is just so German there isn't much to write about.

I've had a good and interesting couple of days though. Thursday I found a back road route that gets me within 10 miles of the office and uses virtually no main roads. It's bloody good fun with the bike in dynamic mode, it's also continually surprising how good the electric suspension is. In dynamic suspension mode it feels as planted as a sports bike.

Today was a different kettle of fish altogether. Wet and horrible this morning and 40mph winds added this evening. The bike just soaks everything up with ease, rain mode, road suspension, and screen up sorts out most of the wet stuff. The bike just deals with the wind, for such a tall and heavy lump it's very well balanced and sure footed.

I'm struggling to find situations where this bike doesn't do well (only failing is my short legs)
