The paint.

Ethanol is supposed to leak through the seals in the plastic tank. They changed the manufacturing process to stop the issue.

Thats why I asked if a Plastic Tank.

Most unleaded is E5 in the UK which means 5% ethanol.

In some places in Europe I think they use E15 and I think at some point in the future we will be going to e10 here in the UK.

Its horrible stuff for plastic tanks

E10 fuel is great though! You do burn through it a little quicker though

I've sent emails off to MV and my local dealer about bubbles in the paint on the tank. By all accounts some bikes around the same age as mine have had the same issue. They start to appear well after the warranty date. MV have changed a few tanks in the States but seem to dig in in Europe. I'll have to see what the dealer says.

MV have told them to piss off.

The dealer has said I can try MV directly but they're unlikely to change their minds.

One of my brother's mates is coming out next week to look at it. He reckons he can do a paint match and repair for £90.

If it's shit it's shit. It looks like I need to strip the tank and have it resprayed at some point anyway so I'm happy for him to have a go.

I world prefer to get it done properly to be honest. Wrap suggests you're covering something up.

Maybe have a look at some Kwacky.

I've seen 80 grand cars wrapped and if you didn't know you couldn't tell. A cr@p job will look exactly that, but there is some very good stuff out there.

Different reason for covering though, they are covering something that is perfect so it didn't get damaged.

If the paint has already bubbled would this not show through the wrap?

Wrapping it would be too much like putting a Bandaid on it.....both literally & figuratively.

They aren't using it for paint protection thats a different product, they have done it from a design point of view.

You could easily flat it off before wrapping.

Just a suggestion. If it has no merits never mind.
