2019 Biking plans

Post by C00kiemonster »

Well rather than talking about the B word (banned in this thread) , lets kick off 2019 with what we all want to do on our bikes.

I'll start....

Things to buy / mod on my bike.

Quickshifter
Truimph Navigation bluetooth thingamajig
Belly Pan
New Tyres
Black Brake levers
Bike Lift (for garage)

Things I want to do with it / them:
Euro Tour 2019
A couple of biking weekends away
Trackday at my local track
Take it to the IOM
Buy an old shitty off-roader to see if i'd use one.
Not get caught so much by the gendarmes |(

Events / stuff i'm doing:
French Superbike championship rounds - i've been to a couple and they are good to watch, so a few more of those.
Classic / Manx TT - i might try and go this year, i need to do some ringing round at some point.
Refitting my garage in my spare time - posh space for bikes and the car. Should have pics in a few months but it's shaping up nicely :P
Le Mans 24hrs Endurance (bikes) - this is a maybe, but i do want to go.

I did some decent mileage (for me) last year, so i want to keep it up. When this cold snap moves on, it's coming out :)

Anyone else?

I'll be honest my main biking plan is to swap bikes if my money goes up at work. That's the main thing on my mind. That means test rides and hunting for a deal, but not until I know im in a position to buy

Once the sun comes back a bit I need to start riding a bit more, i've been a bit slack over winter, especially by my standards.

Ill be doing the usual BSB rounds, would like to do a few more again as I get the tickets free and always enjoy riding to the other rounds. Would love to do the GP but I dunno if I will or not, just coz ive never seen them live.
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

Nothing set in stone

Do the Euro trip on the ATAS.
Spend more time on the ATAS
Try a few green lanes when they're not so greasy. It's a big bike to drop.
Get a sporty number for the weekends
Get a track day in or two.
Get to more ride outs - 2018 was poor.

Just ride more and do a Scotland tour or maybe IOM.

For the first time im totally happy with a bike and its performance.... Ok maybe a remap at hilltop to smooth out the low end. And some new tyres.

Hadnt thought of it till this thread started tbh. Great thread Cookie (y) and a welcome change from the B word and all the doom and gloom (gah)

I guess priority No.1 is ride more as been sorely lacking in the last 2 year's.

No plans for the bikes as I have them where I want them now and got new tyres in the garage waiting to go on, so I think I'm all set there.

Do fancy some trackdays and hopefully a euro track event. Some ride outs would be good as would the IOM.

Hoping for decent weather and plenty of time in the saddle (lol)

Would there be any interest in a return to the Isle of Man in September?

Yes depending on dates I would be interested.

It's been too long and I fancy a good thrash over the Mountain, I still remember the first year chasing you over the top on a 600rr Repsol and you launching engine mouting bolts at me (rock)

Not much setting stone for me.

I really want to do the euro tour.

The suspension still needs to be setup properly and there are some carbon bits on my shopping list.

I need to get out and ride it more..

Sell the Multistrada
Sell the 999s
Sell either the RSV4 or 600rr track bike, I haven't made my mind up yet. I need to do a track day to see how I get on with my shoulder (sweat)
Doing nothing to the Tuono its nice enough as it is.

Try another track day or more depends on how I get on
Definitely more riding this year, missed out nearly all of last year ;(

Do the Euro trip
Got the two Ducati trackdays booked.
Going to keep the 853 for now and then decide whether I can justify keeping it at the end of the season.
Would like to do a Wales coast breakfast run when it’s summer time.
I am going to be honest and say I have got bored with the IOM. I think we have ridden every road there is, many times over. And it’s expensive for what is really just one day. I reserve the right to change my mind later in the year though. :D

I was tempted but I thought he had sold it (facepalm)

So I bought the AT instead.

It's a weekend away on the bikes. I do think a lot depends on the weather. The last visit there was a wash out. It also depends what bikes you're on.

It's only a matter of time before all of the Island is speed restricted. I want to make the most of it while I still can.

Didn't realise speed restrictions were on the cards tbh but thinking about I guess it's inevitable.

Sounds like we need one last Hooray (party)

When did we first go? Duke had just got the 748 so he should know (lol)

2009 I think. That was the year the Tuono blew up so I ended up on the 748.

Blade, they started a few years ago putting speed limits in place in a few sections of the course.

We've had some good trips over there. It's a shame Bratty isn't still about.

That's Bratty's Ghost. It can still be seen on very foggy days over the Mountain, warning riders to slow down.

The real Bratty hasn't been seen for a few years.
