SuperDuke GT initial thoughts.

Post by Stonesie »

It's awesome.... (rock)

Comparing it to the mt10 is not easy as they are different in so many ways but the GT is faster, more stable and better on fuel while being slightly more comfortable, i didn't find the MT uncomfortable though.
Thats a big tick in the tourer box so how about the sport's side of the sport tourer?

In street mode it is really good with compliment suspension and an easy throttle response, no snatch at all and full power available if you want it and i immediately had confidence in the bikes feedback.
Sport mode is firmer, sharper and similar in feel to the mt10 with immediate throttle response but still no snatching. The 1/4" chicken strips are already reduced to less than half that 8)

It does vibrate a bit but its a 1.3 V-Twin so you have to expect that, and the 106 lb ft of torque makes overtaking ridiculous with that coffee mug sized Austin Racing can doing nothing to quiet this beast.

I'm happy with it and will be fitting some mods soon, radiator guard and a cheap tracker have already arrived.
Pics when i get home.

They're a beast, that's for sure. So much grunt on paper. I need to test one.

Nice buy.

I was talking to a KTM guy last weekend. He reckoned the GT is a very different bike to the SDR.

The MT was a cracking bike. I'm sure you'll have as much fun on this one though.
